       [center]The Occult[/center]
       Vampires
       They have superior strength, speed, and senses compared to
       humans and witches/warlocks. Sunlight weakens them over time,
       does not cause them to combust. If outside in direct sunlight
       too long, they can develop "sun sickness", whereas their
       supernatural powers are drained to that of a non-occult. Blood
       is vital as a source of nutrition, however they are able to
       consume normal foods and drink. The only way to kill a vampire
       is by stake and cremation. THEY ARE NOT UNDEAD.
       Shifters
       Occult members that can shift into an animal form (wolf, bear,
       big cats, etc.). As with vampires, they have superior strength,
       speed, and senses. They keep to the clans, and there is no
       interbreeding between clans, but there is always a chance for a
       shifter and human to produce an occult baby. Although not
       immortal, aging slows upon adulthood, so shifters have very long
       lifetimes in comparison to humans. They have speedy healing, but
       any wound that would kill a human could also potentially kill a
       shifter.
       Witches/Warlocks
       They have no superior physical skills, unless brought upon them
       by spells and talismans. Their lifetimes are also the same
       length as humans, unless they have used a spell or curse. They
       highly look down upon any sort of breeding with shifters and
       vampires.

       The History of Occult and Humans
       Occult members have always stayed out of the eye of the public
       (note: humans), for fear of their lives. Such as the witches and
       warlocks during the Salem Witch Trials, they feared the humans
       and their religious persecution. However as time passed, the
       occult slowly started bringing themselves to light, and
       revealing their true selves to the humans. This brought forth a
       huge political movement, as humans cried out for registering and
       regulation out of fear. After a decades long battle within
       politics, the United States of America deemed that it would be
       unconstitutional to require occult members to register
       themselves with the government.
       Like with other minorities, there are groups (religious and
       non-religious) that urge violence against occult members, and
       regularly protest public meetings. There are laws in place to
       protect the occult rights, as well as laws to cover any crimes
       committed. (Drinking blood from an unwilling victim equals
       assault, as does using a spell or curse to harm another.) While
       their are NO LAWS restricting occult members to living within
       certain perimeters of any land, they prefer to live among
       themselves as neighbors, small business owners, etc.
