She hesitated a moment and then looked at her list. "Um...well I
just moved to town..is there a good coffee shop in town? I've
been dying for a good brew other than from my own keurig
machine..." she giggled a little. "And you're kind of the only
person I've had a moment to stop and ask."

"If you're looking for fancy coffee, then you could probably
just go to the local Starbucks," he replied, glancing behind her
to make sure his other cart was still there. He brought his eyes
back down to hers. "Other than that, I just whatever is on
sale."

She smiled. "Thanks, good to know." She attempted putting her
list into her back pocket as she did with many of her things,
and pushed her cart away, not realizing her list, made on a
piece of brand new stationary note paper, including her new
address and name. She was out of sight after that.

As she left, Kiernan noticed the paper flutter to the ground. He
knelt down and picked it up, but when he turned the corner to
return it, she had disappeared. He frowned and went back to his
carts, pulling them along before trying to find her in the
rather large store.

Having finished the rest of her shopping, she headed for the
registers to check out her things and head back home. Tomorrow,
she had her interview with Chief of Staff at the hospital, so
she wanted to take the rest of the day and just chill in her
apartment.
She put her groceries on the line and waited while the cashier
scanned and bagged everything, then she paid and left the store.
As she walked outside, she took a deep breath and sighed. She
truly felt good being here, like there was something in the air
that just made her feel like this was the right place.
She loaded her things in the trunk of her car and headed home,
where she put away her groceries and then stretched out on her
couch for some chick flix and a bottle of the red wine she'd
just bought.

Sophia yawned and rolled her head on her shoulders; she was
exhausted from working back-to-back shifts at the nursing home,
but it was income she couldn't pass up. She settled back into
the diner booth and took a drink of her hot tea, waiting for her
meal to arrive. She had received a small raise on the Eve of her
2nd year at the nursing home, so she had decided to celebrate by
going out to eat.

Jami clocked out for the evening and followed his manager out as
they locked up for the evening. He loved this job, going in
early, and being able to leave just before dinner time. He and a
few of his co-workers would often head out for dinner, but today
it was just him and his boss. They split ways and Jami waved
goodbye as he got in his car.
He drove around for about ten minutes trying to decide where to
eat and finally pulled into a place lots of people have told him
to try, but he'd just never gotten to. He cut the engine and got
out, heading inside. He walked through the doors, dusting
himself off. He looked around, his piercing emerald green eyes
surveying the room quickly, before stepping up to the podium. He
ran a hand through his wavy, thick brown hair and smiled as a
waitress walked up to seat him.

As the warmth from the tea settled into jer bones, Sophia found
herself wondering if her family had missed her at all. She'd
left them behind due to their differences when it came to the
occult, as well as as how they wanted their daughter to live her
life. She sighed and put the cup down. There were things she
missed so much, but it would never be enough to bring her back
to their world.

As Jami was seated, he tucked back strands of his hair and
ordered a lite beer, then looked over the menu and chewed on his
lower lip. When the waitress returned, he ordered a caesar salad
and an appetizer of pork sliders.
While he sat waiting, he looked over to the table nearest to him
where a lovely young woman sat and he leaned over toward her.
"Excuse me..." he spoke softly.

She blinked then looked up as a man spoke to her, almost unsure
that he was even speaking to her. "Uh, yes?" she replied.
