Avery opened her eyes and looked around at where she had been
laying for the past several hours. Her breathing was slightly
stabilized but it had not yet recovered. They were planning on
admitting her soon, she just needed to wait for her mom and
brother to arrive.
She hit the button on her bed, allowing the head of the bed to
raise up a bit more. She looked around the room and found her
roommate. She looked at the machines he was connected to and
sighed, feeling bad that people like him were connected here,
but she was just having a hard time breathing.

The guy noticed her move her bed up and watched her.

"I'm Avery." she answered, smiling at him. She looked at him
moment more and then turned slightly to her side. "What're you
in for?"

She frowned and then sighed.
"I have something called Fixed Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. It
causes me to have asthma-like attacks, and it mostly affects my
airway. I had an attack last night and I couldn't overcome it
this time. I thank my family back home." she giggled a little
bit.

"Ahhh, that sucks," he mused, stretching. "Do you come here
often?" He looked back at her.

She blushed and laughed a little. "No, only when I can't help
myself at home. This is the second time in a year." She looked
down and adjusted her blanket on her lap then looked back at
him. "Broken heart?"

chest pains. Make sure I'm not having heart attacks."

down at her blanket on her lap and pulling it close to her. She
looked back at him. "You have any family here with you?"
