Her jaw dropped and the tears she'd been fighting began to pour
down her cheeks. She stood there before choking back a sob and
running for the door, not even bothering to slam it behind her.
She couldn't believe he was kicking her out. All because she
didn't want to be a d*mn nurse. She rushed passed the various
guild members on the grounds and practically flew out of the
gates. She kept running and didn't stop until she was at a park
where she collapsed onto a bench and buried her face in her
hands.

Taibou closed his eyes on the exhale and sat back down, his head
sinking back on the back of the couch and covering his face with
his hand.
Daime was walking down the sidewalk path, not really knowing
where he'd walked as he was finishing his cone. As he shoved the
last bit of cone and frozen milkiness into his mouth, he looked
up and watched the young woman running in and practically threw
herself onto the bench. He stopped in his tracks, swallowing
what he'd finished chewing and bit his lip. He looked down the
path in the direction she'd come and then looked around the
park, finally realizing that's where he'd ended up. He shoved
his hand through his thick red hair and walked up quietly.
"Hey...are...are you alright miss?" he asked, bending his body a
bit to get lower to her.

Sophie shook her head as tears leaked through her fingers.
"I-I have nowhere to go," she whimpered. "I'm being kicked out
because I don't want to be a stupid nurse..."

"Wow...that's just..." he sighed. "That's dumb. Well...uh, where
do you come from? Are you from around here?" he asked, looking
down at her and then around the park nervously. He wasn't sure
how anyone walking by would take this scene.

She straightened with a sniffle and brushed away the tears from
her eyes.
"The guild," she mumbled, trying to collect what was left of her
dignity.

He looked down at her. "They still have those things around
here?" he asked, a bit surprised. He groaned and ran his fingers
through his hair. "Well, I guess there's no going back...are you
hungry?"

He nodded and stood up straight. "Um...well, I think I saw a
place down the street here. It's a bit of a walk...I could give
you a ride, but my car is parked back at the hotel." He put his
hand out to her offering her help up.
