He shrugged. "So far isn't a permanent station, but they said I
could be relocated at any time. It's all based on the need for
me somewhere else." he looked over at her with a grin. "I could
see myself sticking around though. I've made a lot of friends
here."

"I don't really have many hobbies now. The marines kind of
sucked that out of me while I'm on duty. Back home I restored
motorcycles with my uncle. My dad and I had an old Indian that
we were restoring before he was deployed. He was KIA and I never
got to finish it. My uncle had a shop and to keep my mind off
things, I'd go over there and help him out." He looked down at
his hands in his lap and twisted a ring on his finger. "Out here
though, it's mostly just my buddies, Val and David who head over
here and window shop." He laughed a little and looked up at her.

He nodded. "My dad and my sister are the reason I joined. My
mother wasn't too happy about it, but she's okay now. We talk
weekly, and she knows I'm okay. I'd rather be here though, away
from the troubles that are going on back home." He stopped
talking and looked up at her smiling. "I'm still curious about
you though. For a fifteen year old, you're very mature. I didn't
peg you for being so young."
