"Let me try the banana..." Jared smiled at the cute little thing
behind the kiosk counter. She blushed and handed him a small
bowl of banana sweets. He turned to his two buddies and grinned.
"Val, you should try the caramel. I think you'd love it." The
young blonde shook his head and turned the other way. "Alright,
well come on, lets see what's new this week."

Amaya was walking down the street from school, drinking a
Ramune. She ran a hand through her thick brown hair and
stretched with a yawn.

Jared and his boys walked the length of the shopping strip and
stopped at the end and sat down near the street side. They
bantered about military jargon from base and laughed childishly
as they sat there eating their sweets.

Amaya tossed her bottle in a recycling bin, then walked over to
the vending machines as she pulled out her wallet. She looked
over at the American men briefly before looking back at the
machine to select a snack.

Jared watched the young woman as she approached and walked by.
Val looked at him and then tapped his shoulder.
"Dude...she's probably 12." he whispered. Jared looked back at
him and grinned a co*keyed grin.
"She's cute though. I'll bet she's older." he smirked. Val shook
his head.
"Come on, David and I wanted to head to that bar down the
street."

He pulled some money from his pocket and smiled. "You guys go on
without me, I'll meet up with you." Val and David shook their
heads and moved along. Jared squared up and walked up to the
young woman, adjusting his baret on his head and smoothing out
his fatigues. As she finished her purchase, he stepped up
quietly.
