Michelle grinned, swinging the door fully open, showing off her
sequined black and white mini dress. "I'm so ready for this
party!!"

"I'm still not so sure about it," Ami confessed softly. She was
in a midnight blue spaghetti strap mini dress with a heart
neckline and black lace overlay. "I've never actually been to a
fancy gala like this."

"Psht, fancy schmancy, it's going to be fun. And imagine who is
gonna be there. There has to be some hot and single guys there.
There's bound to be..." She grinned and stepped back away from
the door. "Now come on, we have to be checked in at the front
door in twenty minutes."

She shook her head and grabbed her shawl and clutch. "Okay,
okay," she mused, walking outside with her.

Michelle rushed to her car and fastened her seat belt. "This is
so exciting. I haven't been to a party in a long time!"

as she climbed in and buckled up.

She laughed as she put the car in gear and started to pull away.
"You wouldn't believe me if I told you, but I met this cute guy
down at the Galleria last month. We were both trying to figure
out why there was a cat with human ears and a dog nose in this
picture someone had put up. The guy was super sweet and had a
really nice a$$. We started talking for a while, looked around
at the rest of the gallery and then we went out for coffee and a
midnight 'snack'." She air quoted the snack. "When he dropped me
back off with my car, he invited me to go. I knew I'd have to
take you, so I asked if he was interested in a double date, if
he had a friend at least." She winced a little bit, she'd never
really told Ami that this was a set up. "But anyway, he said
yeah and here we are."
