Before she could say anything, he was gone and the dial tone
echoed in her ear before it beeped and cut off. Uncharacteristic
tears started in her eyes as she sniffled and put her phone in
her pocket. She wiped at her eyes in an effort to keep the tears
at bay, and went back to her desk in a bad mood. "This sucks..."
she whispered to herself miserably. She missed Heero way more
than she thought she would and now that she was pregnant, it
made everything much more complicated.

Michelle entered L2 under security. She'd passed as an OZ
soldier and as soon as she could, she snuck in to change and get
to Duo's. She couldn't wait to see him. She brought out her
phone once more and text Ami again.
'Are you okay? You seem like there's something wrong lately,
other than Heero being gone.'
She had to move quickly, she couldn't stay in one place for long
until she got to Duo otherwise she'd be caught.

Ami looked at the message bleakly and then replied, 'Might as
well tell you now. I'm pregnant.'
Duo had received a message saying Michelle was coming. He was so
excited to see her and kiss her, but he was nervous. It was
dangerous here, especially the way she'd come in. He waited for
her at the rendezvous point that had been set for them; an
inconspicuous cafe.

She got to the door of the cafe and her phone went off. She
found Duo, in his disguise and walked over and sat next to him.
Without a word, she ordered a small drink and downed it quickly.
She then pulled out her phone, and looked at it, it being in
perfect sight for Duo to see. Michelle gasped as she read it.

And of course he looked right as he took a drink. Choking in
surprise, he grabbed a napkin and spewed his tea into it, eyes
wide. "No way..." he gasped.

Michelle looked at him, her own shock. "She hasn't talked to him
either..." she whispered, unable to say anymore as she simply
responded, 'I'm...speechless...' back to her.

Duo ran a hand through his bangs as stood up, leaving money on
the table. "Let's go," he murmured, still in a bit of shock. "I
have no idea where he is or how he'll react." He pulled Michelle
up by her hand, lacing thwir fingers together, and started
walking to a car.
Ami, feeling rather alone at this point, sent a quick text back
to Michelle, 'Have fun with Duo.' and then went to clock out.
Her boss knew she was having a rough time, especially being on
her own and pregnant, so he basically let her make her own
hours. Alone and dejected, she grabbed her purse and large
hoody, and headed to the diner. She needed comfort food.

Michelle took his hand and walked with him. "Thank you for
letting me know..." she murmured to him.
Heero had already been sitting in the diner. He was still in his
disguise, his long trench coat and baseball cap. He'd been
fortunate enough to be able to stay on earth, but his situation
would only put him at more risk, and he'd always been okay with
that. Never really having anything to lose, he was used to it.

He smiled weakly and opened the door for her, helping her in,
then shut it and headed for his side. "You're welcome," he
replied. "How are you?" He looked at her, now grinning boyishly
as he started the car. "I've missed you so much.. I'm so glad
you came."
Ami walked into the diner and made her way to the booth at the
opposite side of the building where Heero sat. The owner walked
up and looked at her sympathetically. "Same as usual sweetheart?
Or does your little nugget want something else?" She asked
gently as Ami took off her hoody. "The usual is all right Mera,"
she replied softly, a faint smile on her tired face.

As he got in the car, she leaned over and kissed his cheek. "I'm
so happy to be here. But is it really safe?"
Heero sat in his booth and took one more sip of his drink before
he got up and headed for the restroom. As he walked by the
counter, he let the waitress nearby know he'd be right back. He
continued on and walked to Ami's side of the cafe, he was trying
to hide himself from everyone, so he didn't pay much attention
to people as he walked by them. But when he passed Ami on the
way to the bathrooms, he caught her scent. His knees trembled
from that moment on. But he continued.
