She couldn't help but smile faintly. "Neither have I..." she
confessed softly, nudging his face back to hers. "But.. I-I... I
want it to be w-with you..." She couldn't believe she was saying
those words.

Heero ran his hand over her sides and pulled away. "I just..."
he helped her off of his lap and stood up. "I can't..." He
looked at her, a painful look crossing his face. "It...It's not
the right time..."

"Not the right time?" she echoed hoarsely. She felt her cheeks
burn with embarrassment from the rejection and she quickly
stood, reholstering her gun. "Understood," She mumbled, suddenly
not wanting to be here any longer. She quickly made her way to
the door, trying to avoid his gaze. For she was sure if she did
meet those piercing silver-blue eyes, she wouldn't be able to
hold back the tears.

Heero paused and stammered. "W-wait...Ami...it's..." He sighed
and ran his hand through his hair, bowing his head. "I want
to...but..." he shrugged. "I'm kind of old fashioned..." He
smiled at her for the first time, to anyone. "I really...like
you." He flushed from his own embarrassment.

She had stopped with her hand on the doorknob, head turned
slightly towards him as he spoke. "I like you too," she said
quietly.

Hero looked down at her with sad eyes. He shook his head. "The
life of a pilot is ever unknowing. I may return tomorrow, or in
a year." He stroked her cheek with his fingers and sighed. "But
I will promise you that when I return, I will find you."
