Heero had fallen asleep in a chair in their room, having refused
the comforts of his own bed. He had tried to relieve some of the
madness in his head the night before, having called another
friend of the family to come watch the kids while he left home
for a while. He came back rather late, and was somewhat hung
over from a short visit to the pub downtown. He smelled the
breakfast in the air and almost started to panic until he
realized there was no way the kids could possibly cook that
well.
He walked out into the kitchen and looked to find Ami. He stood,
confused, excited, but happy and watched her. He only waited for
her to see him there and have something to say.

Ami turned around as she smelled her husband come in; there was
no mistaking the cigarette smoke and light booze smell that
she'd caught wind of when she first came home. She smiled
tiredly and handed him a plate piled high with pancakes, bacon,
sausage, eggs, and warm biscuits. There was milk and orange
juice on the table.
"Eat up..." she murmured.

He took the plate, confused even more now. What's in it...? he
wondered. "Ami...I thought you were staying at a hotel..." he
asked, just trying to confirm that the events of yesterday
actually happened and that it wasn't a dream.

"I changed my mind," she replied, making the kids' plates to
stay warm in the oven.

"Is that all you've changed your mind about?" he asked, pouring
himself a glass of orange juice.

Before she could reply, there a sharp knocking at the front
door.

Heero stopped mid-pour and got up from the table. "Who's that?"
he asked out loud, heading to the door.
As he got to it, he opened it and looked out. Crap he thought.
What happened...

Ami paused as she heard him open the door and sighed quietly,
washing and drying her hands. This was sooner than she had
expected...

"Are you Heero Yuy?" a large officer asked, looking at a small
little notepad in his hand and then to him.
"Yes...what's this about?"
"Sir, you're under arrest for the murder of Relena Darlian" The
officer, turned Heero around and started placing cuffs on him,
reading him his rights. Heero looked confused for a moment, then
he looked at Ami. She didn't... "Do you understand these rights,
Mr. Yuy?"
"Yes." He looked at Ami the whole time and never took his eyes
off her as they started out the door with him in tow.

"He's not the one you want," her voice called out from the
kitchen as she came out. She looked into Heero's eyes as she
spoke her next words, "I'm the one who killed her."
