She smiled. "Where to?" she asked, wondering at the same time
       what time it was.

"We will need to pick up the children from school." She told
him. "Then...tonight we can discuss it. Over a romantic dinner."
She purred, running her hands up his chest.

He smiled and his eyes crinkled at the corners. "Sounds good,"
       he murmured.

A month passed, Duo and Michelle left on vacation with their
kids, and took them to an amazing Island Resort. While they were
there, Duo and Michelle renewed their vows, and Michelle had a
long heartfelt talk with Trowa about how things needed to
change. They decided that to keep each other from actually
having any contact that Trowa would pick his son up from school
and not walk him in when he dropped him off. She still wasn't
comfortable about it though. She was prepared to dedicate
everything in her to Duo this time, and even having Trowa around
was something that was going to make life difficult. She wished
he would just understand and walk away. But that wouldn't be
fair. Luka was old enough now to understand and it would hurt
       him too.
Heero's trial had finally come now, he just awaited the verdict
that had gone to the judge's chambers over a technicality.
He sat strumming his fingers on his lawyer's desk, bored of
waiting and aching to see his wife and kids.

"Well, Heero, it's been declared a mistrial and you've been
acquitted of all charges," the lawyer states; he seems surprised
by this verdict. He adjusted his glasses and looked at the man
before him. "It seems in their eagerness to apprehend you as
their prime suspect, there was a clear mishandling of evidence
and the chain of custody was broken. Nothing was admissible, and
without that they had no case. Your wife's doctor also made it
clear that her recent surgery combined with strong antibiotics
and painkillers make her unreliable for testimony."

"So...it's over?" Heero asked, slightly in shock. He thought for
sure he'd be looking at the back side of prison cell bars the
       rest of his life.

He stood up quickly, and put out his hand. "Thank you so much!"
he smiled, from ear to ear in fact. He'd never been this happy.
Well, of course when his children were born, even then he
couldn't remember having such a smile. But how could this be
bad? He was free! He was going to be with his wife and children!
He practically jumped out of the seat when he stood up and at
this point, he wanted to yell his joy. Tears started forming in
       his eyes.

His lawyer chuckled. "Go enjoy your freedom," he said as he
       packed up and left.
