She grumbled. "I'm sure it has been rough. But I'm here, and
you're just going to turn me away like some scum who doesn't
mean sh*t to you anymore!" She started to move towards the door
to leave but changed her mind and turned back. "You know, bad
things happen to people...I too have bad things happening. I
took time out of my bad things happening to come here...and
check up on you. To make sure that your bad things weren't
happening. I'm here Ami! Isn't that ever going to be enough for
you?! Everytime someone has tried to show up and be there for
you, its an inconvenience. They weren't there on time! I only
just found out there were issues!" She ran her hand through her
thick brown hair. "When Quatre called me the other day...he was
freaking out. He was afraid you'd do something stupid...he knows
about the necklace Aims..." she admitted to her, reluctantly.
She knew now that it was going to cause more problems having
Quatre know and never tell Ami. She bowed her head and shook it.
"I didn't know anything like this was still happening. I thought
Heero cleared himself of her. But I'm sorry...I've been out of
the loop. I've been trying to put my life back together, hoping
I could keep my family happy..."

Ami rubbed her eyes and sighed heavily. "I just..." her voice
trailed off. What could she say? Michelle had a point...
Footsteps started shuffling upstairs, and she knew the kids were
up. "Things are just so fucked," she mumbled quietly between the
two of them.

Michelle sighed and bowed her head to the floor. "I want to do
whatever I can to help. Does Heero have a lawyer? Do you?" She
looked back up at her friend with concern in her eyes and
reached her hand out to touch her on the shoulder. "I'm here now
Ami...let me be." She knew there were still things that had to
be sorted out between her and Duo, but right now, that had to be
put on hold. Ami was practically her childhood friend. They'd
been through everything together, war, marriages, losses...all
of it. She knew she had to take time out now to help her. Even
if it meant that she may not succeed, she had to try.

"Dr. J is taking care of the lawyer," she replied, starting to
get the kids' plates ready. "I don't think I need one..."

"Ami...what's going to happen if this doesn't pan out the way
Heero is hoping for?" She asked, but then thought about the
situation. Heero had been known to go into psychotic fits. He
was practically infamous for them. Insanity is the only way out
of this, and she knew it. But only hoping that it would work was
her concern. She sighed and shook her head. "I can't fathom the
idea of either one of you going to prison..."

She swallowed hard as the kids' descended the stairs. "I don't
know."

Michelle's eyes twitched towards the oncoming audience. "Well
you'll need to figure out a plan b....Hey guys!" She greeted the
kids, walking briskly to them with open arms. "I've missed you
guys!!"

Ami watched as her kids screeched joyfully and smothered their
aunt with hugs and kisses. She rubbed her eyes and sighed
shakily. "Damnit..." she whispered.

She hugged the kids tightly and looked at each one of them,
speaking to them separately while they all tried talking at
once. After some moments, she scooted them off to go play for a
few more minutes and then turned back to Ami. "I'll take them if
you need me too. But I don't know how hard it will be."

Ami nodded slowly. "I should go see Heero at the jail..." she
mumbled.
