Re: Cry For The Dream

Quatre couldn't help but want to comfort her as he walked up to
her and pulled her against him. He could see the tears she'd not
yet shed. "Is he leaving again?" he asked, nearly hopeful so he
could try to make things up to Ami for his earlier action.
Michelle nodded and turned back to her husband. "Thank you..."
Ami whimpered and nodded, leaning into Quatre. "In two days..."
she sighed shakily, hugging the blonde back. "It feels like he's
never home..."
Within an hour, Duo was groaning softly and his eyes were
opening. "M-Micki?..."
Heero finished packing a bag and sighed as he walked to the
bedroom door and called out for Ami. "Ami...I need to talk to
you..." he called, hanging his head low.
Michelle was barely awake at his bedside. She heard her name and
looked up at Duo. "Hey..." she whispered hoarsely. She cleared
her throat and smiled. "Hey baby..."
"I-i'll be back..." Ami murmured, breaking away from Quatre and
walking upstairs. She walked into the room, noticing the bag and
immediately went cold. "Heero?"
Duo grinned weakly and looked up at her. "So...am I a stubs or
not?" he chuckled.
Quatre nodded and sat down on the couch again.
Heero looked at her, a bit of pain on his face. "Dr. J was the
one who called me on the way home." he spoke, his normal tone.
"He said I have to leave immediately."
Michelle didn't find it funny one bit. "They managed to reattach
it...but you won't be able to go back to work for awhile. And
you'll need therapy for quite awhile..."
Ami blanked then. "You..have to leave...tonight?" she repeated,
a bit of disbelief. She looked absolutely crushed.
"What about work? We'll need to pay the bills.." he sighed
weakly, feeling like an idiot for being so careless.
Heero looked away from her and walked over to grab his luggage.
He walked back over and took her hand, holding her wedding ring.
He held it up and showed it to her. "Just because I leave, does
not mean I love any of you any less. You still have my heart, as
long as you wear this ring. And as long as that remains so, I
will always return home to my family." He gently kissed her hand
and then released it, putting his arm around her shoulder, and
placing his hand on the back of her head. He pulled her into him
rather desperately, and kissed her as though he would never see
her again. He knew his passionate kiss would mean something to
more than most of loving actions.
Michelle sighed. "I just said you wouldn't be able to work, Duo.
But, I guess the doctor said something about a bill passed." She
rubbed his arm lightly. "We'll make it through, don't you worry
about it." She smiled and leaned down, kissing his fingers
lightly.
Ami barely heard him as he spoke, but she knew what he was
saying. Her eyes grew wide when he pulled her into him and
kissed her desperately. She closed her eyes tightly and kissed
him back, wrapping her arms around his neck as tears trickled
down her cheeks.
Duo sighed weakly and nodded with a smile, nudging her face up
to kiss her lips. "I love you Michelle, I'm sorry I'm such an
idiot..."
Heero kissed her for a moment more and then pulled away. That
sad look in his eyes. He ran his hand over the side of her head,
and then turned and picked up his things. "I'll come back...I
always do." Without another word, he started out of the room and
to the front door.
Michelle kissed him softly. "You're not an idiot...just
very...careless." She smiled weakly and remembered all the
stupid times she'd heard about him trying to self destruct
himself.
Ami dropped to her knees and buried her face in her hands as she
wept. Loud, gasping sobs jerked her body. Her husband who was
barely home, was leaving for a good few weeks. She was so sad
about it; but she couldn't ask him to get a different job, he
loved his work...
Duo smiled and held her hand lightly. "You're big careless
husband..." he chuckled.
Heero left the house and Quatre stood as he did. He sighed and
then started to hear Ami crying. He walked back to her room and
found her on her knees. "Ami..." he spoke softly, and walked up,
kneeling beside her. He pulled her into him and held her
tightly. "It's alright. He'll come home safely, I'm sure of it.
He is Heero Yuy after all."
Michelle sighed and laid her head upon his good arm. "I hope
they don't plan to keep you here very long..." she groaned,
thinking about her brother with her kids at home.
"Quatre...what am I supposed to do?" her sobs weakened and she
looked up at him miserably. "He'll be gone for weeks..."
"I think I heard the doctor talking about a week-long stay.." he
sighed, stroking her hair with his good hand. "Just to make sure
the arm takes.."
Quatre wanted to take her by her arms and shake her senses. He
wanted to scream at her how she didn't have to worry, that he
was going to be there, and that he could treat her better
anyway. Rather, he sighed and pulled her head against his chest.
"It will be alright..."
Michelle nodded and sighed. "I'll have to go home sometime. I
can't leave Wufei with the kids very long..." She knew his
temperament, and closed her eyes. "Maybe I can bring Catrina to
see you tomorrow though..."
Ami sniffled, burying her face against his chest as he pulled
her into him. "Quatre..a-am I a bad wife?"
Duo sighed heavily, wishing she didn't have to go. "All
right...maybe the boys can come up for an hour..."
"God no!" Quatre spoke quickly. "Why would you even think things
like that?" He lifted her face with his finger and pressed his
forehead to hers. "Heero is just...Heero." He looked down and
sighed heavily. "You are perfect. I've seen it. You're great
with your kids, and you're so kind to everyone..."
"Yeah, maybe for a little bit. We'll see." She kept her head
laid down and traced her finger over his arm.

Self-blame; Ami always did this, it was a wonder she hadn't
tried to off herself like her husband had during the war. Then
again, she wasn't suicidal. She blinked back tears and looked
into Quatre's eyes. "I just want him to be home..." she
whispered, her eyes never leaving his. "He works seven days a
week and gets home late enough to go to bed and that's it..."
Duo fell silent for a few moments and then closed his eyes
tightly. "Michelle...I love you...you're happy with me right?"
Quatre now held Ami's face in his hands, his thumbs caressing
her cheeks. "I will stay here for you. If you allow me. I will
not leave you. I will show you what you are missing..." So he
became a little selfish. But the woman he'd been so in love
with, for so long, was crying in his arms, because of the same
man who was always trying to save the one person who meant,
seemingly, the least to him. Somedays, he wondered if his
'missions', were Heero's excuse.
Michelle looked up at him quickly. "Duo? What are you talking
about? Of course I am."
A bold statement made from someone who other than Michelle, had
been her best friend through all these years. She was emotional
and vulnerable in this moment; she gazed into those aquamarine
eyes of his and then tilted her face up, pressing her lips to
his desperately.
"All right...sorry," he murmured, a weak grin on his face.
"M-must be the drugs..."
Quatre quickly embraced the situation, both arms wrapping
tightly around her waist. He deepened the kiss with her and
gently started to lean her back against the floor. His platinum
blonde hair falling around his face and his sharp pale blue eyes
sparkly into hers. He looped his arms under hers and held onto
the tops of her shoulders. His head tilted to accommodate their
kisses, all the while, his pale skin was turning red around his
cheeks. Ami had always been the one person he was close to, that
this kind of situation had never flared up with.
Michelle sighed. "I should get home..." she murmured. "I'll be
back though. I won't let you be alone very long." She stood and
kissed him softly, then started out, pulling her phone out of
her pocket almost immediately and dialing Trowa's number. She
looked at it before sending though, she remembered her argument
with him. Her eyes started to swell up with tears, but she
pushed it away quickly and hit the send button. She waited for
him to answer as she walked down the hallway of the hospital.
Ami allowed him to lay her back, eagerly parting her lips to the
blonde as they descended. She ran her hands back into his
platinum locks and curled her fingers into it, pulling gently as
she pressed her body into his.
Duo kissed her back and then watched her leave sadly. Things
hadn't been the same, not since he'd found out about Luka. He
only hoped she was holding up her end of their counseling by not
having contact with Trowa unless it concerned Luka. As for his
end, he was to refrain any and all contact from Hilde; which he
was more than happy to do.
Quatre pushed his body against her, his hands moving from her
shoulders to the locks of hair that drifted upon the floor. He
ran his fingers through it. His kiss deepened with her and he
put his knees between her legs, forcing them apart.
Michelle listened to Trowa's phone ring.
All the while she was reminded of her 'no contact' rule. Yeah,
she had been in contact with him, but for the most part each
time she'd call him she'd ask him about his plans for Luka. She
was never told however, there could not be casual conversation
between points. "Answer Trowa..." she sighed, exiting the
hospital.
Ami sighed shakily into his mouth, clutching him closer as her
hands glided down to his back. Her legs parted willing as she
arched her body into his, pressing into his muscular, lithe
frame.
"Hello.." Trowa's murmured echoed in her ear as he answered; he
was driving home form the office.
Quatre pressed himself into her, and then gasped as he pulled
away quickly. "Ami..." he huffed. Staring into her gorgeous
eyes. His whole body pulled back, and he hung his head. "I love
you, Ami." he whispered, and sat up. "But last time I tried
this, you threw me for the biggest loop of a lifetime..." He was
still slightly hurt from their earlier incident.
"Trowa...I need to drop Luka off with you." she sighed, now
getting into her car.
As she looked up at him, gazing into his eyes, she felt it. She
didn't realize it before, couldn't see it: she did love Quatre.
"Why?" he asked, slightly surprised.
Quatre stared at her for a moment. She'd said nothing yet and he
pulled up to his feet and sat upon her bed. He ran his fingers
through his slick platinum hair. His crystal blue eyes looked
back at her, glistening from the sadness in his eyes.
Michelle glared forward through her windshield. She started the
car and clutched the steering wheel. "Because he's your
son...maybe because I need him to go with you..." there was a
pause. "Why are you questioning this?" Part of her welcomed his
voice in her ear, but another part hated it right now. She had
more to worry about with Duo than clearing up why her son needed
to be with his father.
Ami sat up and reached out, touching his shoulder hesitantly.
"Q-quatre...I don't know why I didn't realize it before..." she
murmured. "I-I love you."
"All right...geez...Sorry I asked," he muttered. "You just
normally don't change your mind on me like this."
Quatre looked at her softly, and reach for her hand. He smiled
and quickly leaned over, pulling her into him upon her and
Heero's bed. He kissed her deeply and laid back, pulling her on
top of him.
Michelle sighed. "I'm sorry Trowa. Duo hurt himself in the
garage late last night. He's been in the hospital. He wants me
to bring the boys in, but Luka's far too little to see his...um,
Duo, like that." She winced, correcting herself.
"Mmf--" Ami kissed him back passionately, bracing herself on the
bed as her body pressed into his.
"Oh. Well, I hope he's okay," the man pretended not to hear the
slip. "I'll get Luka's room ready."
Quatre ran his fingers over her sides, pulling her shirt up.
"Trowa..." she whispered, entering the main strip back home.
"I'm sorry about the other day...I hope you aren't mad at me..."
Ami allowed him to pull her shirt up and off, and she too
removed his.
"No...not really..." he sighed, running a hand through his hair.

---Time Skip---
Michelle smiled and sighed. "Ok...I'm on my way to pick up the
kids right now. It'll take about ten minutes to get them fully
ready to go and try to haggle Wufei out of paying him. I'll drop
Luka off with you, and then I'll be going to the hospital." She
wanted to invite him up with her to see his former comrade, but
knew with having Luka, and well, Luka even being his, it wasn't
a wise idea.
Ami laid in Quatre's arms, her breathing soft and ragged.
Sweat-dampened strands clung to her delicate face. "W-wow..."
"All right. I'll see you when you get here."
Quatre laid mostly on his side, running his fingertips over her
abs and her hip lines. He looked at her once in a while and
smiled. "We've just become like Trowa and Michelle...haven't
we?" he chuckled slightly.
Michelle got the kids together, explaining briefly what happened
to Duo. She scooted them all out the door and headed to Trowa's
place first.
"Except for the child part..." Ami smiled weakly, brushing her
fingers through Quatre's platinum curls.
Trowa was preparing things for Luka.
Quatre grinned and nodded. 'Hopefully, it stays that way...' he
thought nervously to himself. "Are you feeling better now
though?"
Michelle didn't take long to get to Trowa's. She honked the horn
outside of his house and waited for him to come out. It was
easier than taking each child from the car and dragging them
inside.
"I suppose, yeah..." A weak grin was forcefully mustered from
Ami.
Trowa walked out and headed for the back of the car, "Hey there
buddy..." he muttered as he pulled his son out.
Michelle emerged from the car when Trowa appeared and she
sighed, watching him remove Luka from his seat. "I'm sorry about
the sudden notice..." she murmured, leaning back against the car
door.
Quatre got up slowly and stretched. He looked back at her. "Ami,
you won't regret this later, will you?"
"It's fine..." he sighed, holding Luka on his hip.
"What? No..." Ami frowned and she too got up, wrapping a robe
around her body.
Michelle sighed. "Trowa...' she murmured. She thought for a
moment and then shook her head. "N-nevermind." she smiled and
lifted herself from the door. She leaned over and kissed Luka's
cheek then opened the door and started to get back in the car.
Quatre smiled and watched her for a moment. "Do you need me to
stay?" he asked quietly, looking to a mirror over one of her
dressers. He fixed his hair and then looked back at her. "If
not, I really should go before I cause any more trouble."
"Wave bye to mommy, Luka...." Trowa murmured, watching the
woman's every move. Luka waved to his mom obediently.
Yes. "No, you can leave you if you need to," Ami replied softly,
smiling as she brushed hair from her eyes.
Michelle blew them both a kiss and quickly pulled out of his
drive and went straight the to hospital. The whole way though,
all she could think of was Trowa's face. She had made so much of
a problem in her and Duo's marriage, but she was still so in
love with Trowa after all this time. She sighed and continued
driving, turning up the radio to try to drown out the thoughts
in her head.
Quatre smiled slightly and ran his fingers through his hair.
"Maybe I should stay, something just doesn't seem right in me
leaving right now..." he spoke, practically blurting each word
from his lips. He suddenly felt brave about what had just
happened. A sinister thought ran through his mind, as though he
could care less what Heero would ever say. "I'll kill him if he
lays a finger on either of us..." he blurted again and chuckled,
his eyes widening slightly; psychotically. He laughed a bit and
then stopped and looked at Ami. "I've always loved you
Ami...ever since the first day we met. I wanted to tell you so
many times...and then...then Heero..." he sighed, a sort of
growl escaping his lips. He grunted and turned away from her.
His fists balled up and he looked to the ceiling. "Like Trowa
and Michelle or not..." he turned his head back to her, looking
out the corner of his eye. "I love you more than Heero could
ever..."
Ami stood staring at Quatre; she had seen something in him just
now that sent fear through her, but also excitement. "Quatre..."
she whispered, moving to his side and enclosing her hands around
his fist. Before she could speak again however, there was a
chorus of knocking on the door, crying, and sneezing. The
children were up.
Duo was laying in his hospital bed, looking at the ceiling.
Despite the pain and medication, he could not sleep. He felt
that this whole situation was wrong. He could see it sometimes
in Michelle's eyes, or hear it in her voice. Guilt wracked his
body and he squeezed his eyes shut tight. He needed to make a
decision. Keep her for himself and continue their troubled
marriage...or let her go, and hope she comes back. He recalled
Hilde's disturbing last words to him; "If you love something,
let it go. If it comes back, its your. If it doesn't, it was
never yours to begin with."
Quatre's face dropped and he looked at her softly. Then the
knocking came and his head snapped in the direction of the door.
"Your kids need you..." he whispered as he kissed her cheek and
slipped away to the bathroom. He sighed as he walked through the
door and leaned against the counter. He stared at himself in the
mirror and shook his head. 'Why would you say all those things?'
Michelle walked through the hospital now, getting to his floor
and finding his room. "Duo?" she whispered as she peeked through
the door. "We're here..."
She nodded slowly, and first went to the baby. Faith was going
rigid in her crib with tears, and as her mother picked her up
she could tell why. The infant's diaper was quite full and
sagging. As she went to change her, Lorelei silently came in and
helped her. Heero Jr. was MIA though.
"Why're you in here?" The six-year-old's voice suddenly cut into
Quatre's mind. A spitting miniature image of Heero Yuy, his
oldest child and only son stood glaring at the blonde man
suspiciously.
Duo quickly forced a smile on his face and sat up weakly, "H-hey
there!" he called out cheerfully.
Quatre looked over quickly at the small child and sighed. He
cleared his throat and looked back at the sink before turning
the faucet on. "I was just checking the sink. Your mom said it
was leaking." he shut it off and showed there was no leak. "See,
all done. Fixed." he murmured and smiled kindly. He patted the
boy on his head and walked silently out to the living room.
There he sat on the couch and dropped his head back.
Michelle walked in with Citty and Duo Jr. "Hi honey." she
smiled, taking Dj over to his father's lap and setting him down.
"How are you feeling?" she asked, looking at the bandage work on
his arm.

Just like his father, the boy scowled and went off to play with
his toys. Lorelei watched quietly as her mother proceeded to
then clothe her infant sister in a light onesie that was a
pretty shade of purple. All the while, guilt, fear, shame, anger
and hurt ran through her. Putting Faith on her hip, she took
Lorelei's hand and headed to the kitchen to make snacks.
"Can't feel a thing!" he chuckled weakly, wincing when DJ bumped
his arm. He planted a kiss on HIS son's forehead. "How are ya?
Being nice to Citty?" he looked over at his baby girl and
smiled. God, it would hurt not seeing them everyday...
Quatre sat quietly listening to the voices of the children and
sighed lightly. He wondered to himself what it would be like to
have one of his own children but chuckled a bit and leaned
forward bracing his head in his hands. Something rattled him
from the inside out and he couldn't shake it. Like he felt he
should NOT be there.
Dj smiled and looked at his older sister. "Citty!" he yelled and
bounced on his father's stomach laughing. Michelle hurried to
grab him and stop his bouncing. "Duo, honey, daddy doesn't feel
good. You can't do that, you might hurt him." She chuckled and
pulled him to her hip. "Any news?" she asked.
Having put Faith in her high chair with some puffs and a bottle,
Ami then made Lorelei a PB&J with some milk and left her at the
table. She wandered into the living and sat down beside Quatre,
leaning against him quietly.
"Oomf." Duo grunted when Dj bounced. He kept his eyes closed for
a moment then sighed deeply. "No...but I wanna talk." He opened
his eyes and looked at her, "..without the kids."
Quatre pulled his hands away from his face and turned his head
to look at her. "Ami..." he whispered. Things had suddenly
gotten far too real. "I...m-maybe I should go." he spoke, biting
his bottom lip in for a moment and turning his head back. It was
true that he was good with kids, and he loved them all a lot,
but to have his own was something completely different.
Michelle looked at Duo for a moment and then to her children.
Citty looked up at her and then to Duo in wonder. She'd heard
these words before and it was never really a good thing. "Well
then...I guess they will have to let you out of here soon then.
I don't really have a sitter." She spoke, in a warning tone of
voice. Bit snarly as well, holding a smile on her face.
Panic surged through Ami, the voice in her head was screaming
and begging, "No don't go!! Don't leave me, please!" She smiled,
though it was tired. Leaning in, she kissed his cheek softly and
then stood, smoothing out her robe. "Okay Quatre..." she
murmured gently.
"It's important Michelle...something that really can't wait. Try
Ami..." he sighed, that tone of her voice. He always hated it,
made he feel as if she were talking to him like a child. He ran
a hand through his hair then pulled Citty into his arms, hugging
her weakly yet still snugly.
Quatre leaned over and kissed her cheek rather quickly before
getting up and leaving through the front door. "I'm sorry..." he
murmured as he walked out. He walked to his car and got in,
looking back for only a second before starting it and speeding
off down the street. His guy instinct told him he'd already done
something he shouldn't have. Now it was only a matter of time.
Michelle sighed heavily and growled as she whipped out her phone
and text Ami. 'Can you watch the kids for a short time? Duo is
demanding I speak with him, without them. I don't see what he
could say that would warrant the kids not being here...w/e' She
rolled her eyes and smiled, a fake one, but a smile nonetheless.
"Why can't the kids be here?" she asked him, walked to the foot
of his bed and tapping her fingers on the plastic bed frame.
Ami sighed deeply as Quatre left. She was again left alone with
her three children. Tears started to build up in her eyes but
she ignored them and walked back into the kitchen where Faith
was screaming happily and making a mess. Lorelei had finished
her sandwich and washed her plate, before going to her room to
play. She went over to her phone tiredly after hearing it go
off, and opened the text message. 'Be there soon' was all she
replied to her friend.
"Because Michelle some things kids don't need to hear," he
muttered, starting to feel irritated. He pet his daughter's
hair, trying to calm down before he escalated. It was then the
nurse came in with his meal, and he set his daughter to the side
of him. "Thank you." The nurse smiled and left, and Duo silently
began to eat. This food tasted like crap, but it was better than
nothing.
Michelle looked at her phone and then back to Duo as he
responded. She didn't like the sound of that at all and tears
began in her eyes. She turned her head quickly to avoid making
contact with Duo at all and walked over and sat down in a chair
that was slightly hidden behind a divider curtain. She sat Dj on
the love seat next to her and sat back staring out the window.
'Things are changing...and he won't even look at me the same...'
she thought to herself. She opened her phone and text Trowa.
'How's Luka doing?' was all she wrote and she placed her phone
back in her pocket.
Quatre got out on the road and pulled onto a side street. Before
he knew it, he was pulling up in front of Trowa's place and
staring at his front door, deciding whether or not to go up.
Before long, Ami had dressed herself and all the kids, and had
piled them into the car. She drove silently the hospital, all of
her cares were begin to drain away. She held the same stoic look
on her face that her husband had all the time. When she arrived
at the hospital, and parked out front and sent Michelle a text
message. 'I'm out front.'
Trowa was watching a movie when his phone buzzed with Michelle's
text. He looked through the glass patio door at his son, who was
playing in the sandbox quite contently. 'He's all
right...playing in the sand.' His thumb hovered over the send
button, and then he was adding more to it. 'Michelle, I love
you...I want to be with you...' He sent the message, feeling his
heart pound in his chest.
Michelle got Ami's text first and in a rush she didn't read the
one that came right after it; Trowa's text. She sighed and stood
up from next to Duo's bed. "Ami's out front." she spoke quietly,
and began herding both kids out the door.
She got downstairs and met Ami outside. "Thanks Aims...Duo wants
to talk to me about something and the kids can't be there." She
mocked the last bit of her sentence and smiled waving them off.
She headed back up and met up with Duo in his room.
"Alright...so let's talk then..."
Armed with two more children, Ami began a drive back home.
Thankfully, she had a playground set in the backyard so that the
children could play and she could keep an eye on Faith while she
did a little self maintanence...
Duo pushed his food tray aside and sat up weakly. He played with
the end up of his braid a little before taking a deep breath.
"Michelle...our marriage is falling apart. Even with us working
on it." he said quietly.
Michelle could only stare at him. 'What did he just say...' she
thought to herself. She walked to the foot of his bed and placed
her hands on the railing. She stared even harder at him, no
expression on her face just yet, but suddenly, it was like her
heart was beating so fast that she swore she would fall and die
right there. She was only afraid of what he could...no...what he
would say next.
He started to chew on the inside of his lip, a nervous habit
from the wars. "A-and I was thinking...you know...maybe we
should separate..." the words coming out of his mouth was
physically hurting him, and he knew it was hurting her too.
"A-And of course I-i'd still come see how you are...and the
kids..." He drew in a sharp breath for what was next to come.
"And...a-and maybe you should--" he swallowed the lump in his
throat. "M-maybe you could t-try and see where you go with
Trowa..."
Muscles in her eye began to twitch as she held back the most
painful tears she'd encountered thus far. She began seeing red,
all of the things they'd been through, the people they'd fought
each other for. All of it, all of it gone in a word.
'Separate...' the word echoed in her head. She continued to
stare at him for a few moments longer and then the tears spilled
rather quickly. In an instant she turned and headed for the
door. "I need to go..." she spoke, not wanting him to see this
pain, and give him the satisfaction of hurting her so much.
"M-michelle please..." he croaked hoarsely, the tears were
obvious in his voice and falling from his deep violet eyes.
"I-i'm not trying to hurt you...I just want you to be sure its
m-me you want..." He trembled in his bed, closing his eyes
tightly and gripping the sheets despite the pain in his injured
arm. "I love you...I don't want you to go...I don't want
this...but I-i've seen how you look at Trowa when he comes over
to pick Luka up. I've seen the look in his eyes too..."

She stopped at the door, her hand tightly gripping the knob,
turning her knuckles white. She stared at the wood, tears
flooding her cheeks. He was right though, but what else could
she do? She looked at Duo the same way she looked at Trowa. She
was about to do a terrible thing just now, she would take
herself completely away from everything. She would forget the
love she shared with both men, she would leave it all behind.
She closed her eyes tight, and her silence broke as she dropped
to her knees against the door and took a deep gasping breath
followed by sobs.
[[ It feels just like I'm going crazy I guess that this is
breaking up And now not even you can save me Will someone wake
me up Never thought that we'd go under I guess we won't be
making up And if this is a dream I wonder Can someone wake me up
]]
He couldn't bear to see her in this state. Mustering up what
little strength he had (and pressing the morphine button like
there was no tomorrow), Duo forced himself out of his hospital
bed and started to stagger over to his wife.
Michelle felt like puking just then. She could hear Duo rustling
around trying to get out of bed, but her body was completely
numb that she could barely move. She dropped her hand from the
door knob and buried her face in her hands, sobbing heavily, so
much that she was beginning to hyperventilate.
He dropped to his knees and pulled her into him tightly. He
buried his face in her hair, muffling his own sobs, as his main
focus was to calm her down...if that was possible at this point.
She shuttered to feel him against her. Her pain was far too
great right now to want him near her. She quickly tried to
regain her composure and pulled away from him. "Don't..." she
said, trying to get back to her feet. She simply kissed his
cheek, a painful thing to do and opened the door. She moved
around him and vanished out the doorway. As she walked down the
hallway, she alerted a nurse that he was out of his bed and
continued walking.
She rushed quickly from there to her car and went to pick her
kids up from Ami. She had to do this the only way she could
figure how.
She raced down the streets and pulled into her driveway, getting
out without cutting the engine and knocked once before walking
in. "Sorry for this Ami. I love you, and I'll call you..." Her
eyes were blood shot and she was obviously still crying even
though she could not look her best friend in the eyes. She
ushered her kids out to the car and then headed for Trowa's
place. She had still not read his text message when she pulled
in his drive and rushed to his door, doing the same as at Ami's
knocking once and walking in. "Trowa...I'm leaving...You did
nothing wrong, and I love you dearly." she spoke, finding Luka
and whisking him into her arms. These were her last words to her
best of friends and the men she loved before she drove off
without any more word to anyone.
Michelle's abrupt departure left everyone stunned. Trowa was
deeply saddened; he didn't know she hadn't read his text, and
could only assume that she was cutting him out of her life once
and for all, and that he would no longer be able to see his son.
As for Duo, he simply crawled back into bed and laid there
staring at the ceiling emptily. He'd really done it; he broke
his only love's heart by forcing her to see life without him.
And Ami...she'd lost her husband for a long work-related trip,
and now her best friend has just taken off without a word as to
what was happening. And considering what had happened with
Quatre earlier, she had a feeling it would be just her and the
kids for some time. This only reinforced her new attitude.
Once Michelle left with her kids, she made dinner and then put
her own little tribe to bed. She then grabbed the scissors from
her desk and went to the bathroom. After staring at herself in
the mirror, she began to chop off her long, beautiful hair and
she didn't stop until it was extremely short and choppy. She
then dropped the scissors on the counter and went and crawled
into bed. Life was changing for the former pilots, and their
families as well...
The next few weeks went by rather slow. For most of them the
next four weeks were like years. No one had heard from Michelle,
for all anyone knew she was never even coming back. She was
heart broken. Her life was falling apart around her and she was
forcing herself to let it all go. Not to return until she knew
exactly what she wanted in her life, or at least until she could
figure out who she wanted her life to revolve around.
Quatre had made short sweet visits to Ami, but only with in the
first two weeks of Heero's leaving. After that, he just never
stopped anymore. He tried calling Trowa a couple of times only
to be ignored by him. Quatre assumed it must have been because
of Michelle's disappearance.
But now it was time for Heero's return. He'd successfully helped
in apprehending the Tsubarov 'gang' in the colonies and now that
he was returning home, J was releasing him from all duty for the
next year. A sort of vacation 'gift' to reward his efforts. What
no one knew was he held a secret on his return, but he'd sworn
to his dear friend that this secret must never be let out. He'd
only escaped the battles with a few injuries. A broken shoulder
blade and a few shots to the ribs. Other than a cast and sling
on his arm and a few healing scars, he was perfect.
He was now pulling into his driveway at home, getting out of the
back seat of the taxi he'd rode in. He grabbed his duffel bag
and walked up to his front door awaiting to see his beautiful
wife and children.
Ami was folding laundry methodically and silently while H.J. and
Lorelei played in the living room, also watching cartoons. Faith
was sleeping in her baby swing. By now Ami's hair had grown out
enough to look normal, though one could tell it was still crude
and home cut. She didn't even hear her husband's car pulling in.
The door opened swiftly and the rustling of his bag could be
heard. It was all louder when he slid it off his shoulder and it
plopped onto the floor. "Ami..." he spoke, calling out to her
quietly.
Ami paused, hearing Heero call out her name. She looked back
down and continued to fold laundry. "In the living room." she
replied, glancing over at the kids. They both jumped up, hearing
their father, and squealed loudly. Together, he was
huggle-attacked by his son and daughter.
Heero grinned slightly and knelt down to hug his children as
best he could with one arm. He stood back up and took Heero Jr's
hand and walked him into the living room. "Some greeting..." he
murmured.
Finished with the laundry, Ami looked up at her husband with a
ghost of a smile. "Welcome home Heero..." she murmured softly.
Heero stared at her and raised a brow. "What did you do?" he
asked, noting the change in her hair. "What's wrong?"
"I cut my hair after I had sex with Quatre and Michelle left,"
she replied calmly. She was definitely not the woman he had left
that month before when he left for work. Faith started to fuss
so she walked over and picked the baby up, bringing her over to
her father.
Heero stood looking at her for a moment. "Hn..." He blinked and
walked away to take his things and put them all away.

Ami bounced Faith on her hip as she went to put the laundry
away. She then put the infant in her crib to play and followed
her husband into their room. "I think I had a nervous
breakdown," she announced quietly. "By the way...Relena has been
calling non-stop..." she started to help him put his things
away. "I don't know what she wants. But she's insisting on
coming to see you...I said it was up to you. But then again, who
knows what you'll do now that I've told you about me and
Quatre." She was talking fast, and not stopping at that. "He
stopped checking up on me after two weeks. Duo cut his arm off
right after you left, but they reattached it...and I guess its
his fault Micki is gone. I can't be too sure. And I missed
you...terribly...I almost hurt myself but then I realized how
angry you'd be, so I didn't. Then again, you're probably really
angry now...I'd be angry if I were you..."
He just listened to her ramble on, but when Michelle's name was
brought into the conversation, he paused a split second and
looked at her, then she kept going and he continued. Finally, he
put everything down and walked over to her and grabbed her
shoulder's. "Ami...stop. Calm down now." he spoke, no expression
at all. "Look, obviously you had some trouble while I was gone.
And maybe I'm upset about what you did. But Quatre knows what
he's dealing with by-- look I really don't care what happened.
You're safe, and the kids are too. That's all that concerns me."
He grabbed her chin briefly and walked out of the room to the
kitchen to find something to eat.
Ami stood there silently as Heero grabbed her by the shoulders,
then grabbed her chin, and walked out. She could feel her heart
pounding in her chest so loudly, it was as if she couldn't hear
anything else at all. She suddenly felt sick. Her stomach
churned and she gasped wildly, barely making it into the
bathroom as she threw up in the toilet. She got sick violently,
her body arching and jerking as she heaved what little she'd
eaten in the past day into the porcelain toilet. When she was
finished, she flushed the toilet and then scooted back against
the wall, hugging her knees tightly. She began to cry then.
"Wh-what have I done?" she sobbed to herself. She missed
Michelle. She wished she hadn't slept with Quatre.
Lorelei followed her father into the kitchen and stood watching
him. "Daddy...what's wrong?" she asked quietly. She was the most
intuitive out of herself and Heero Jr. so she could tell when
something was wrong. She looked up at him through her bangs
wearing the same expression he commonly wore; one of worry and
frustration.
Heero smiled and lifted the child up onto the counter top. "I'm
just really tired." he murmured, walking to the fridge to see
what still existed inside. "I've had a long trip and I think
you're mommy may be sick. But she will be okay..." he continued,
taking a strange bowl from the shelf and walking to the counter.
"...and so will I. Nothing to worry about." he smiled very
weakly and patted her head as he walked by to get a bowl from
the cupboard.
Quatre was on a long drive around town. Pondering the options in
his head to check up on Ami, or stop by to see Trowa, he finally
decided to visit Trowa and see how he was fairing.
Lorelei's furrow between her brow deepened and she pursed her
little lips together. "Not okay...Mommy doesn't sleep alot
anymore..." she whimpered. "And that mean lady comes over almost
every day and says that she's gonna take you away and Mommy
can't do anything..." Tears started in her silver-blue eyes and
her lip quivered. "I don't want you to go away..."
Trowa was sitting in his living room with a beer and five day's
worth of growth on his cheeks and chin. He was sullen and had
only been talking to Quatre in the past month. Michelle hadn't
taken any of his calls or responded to any of his texts. And he
knew that if he saw Duo, there would definitely be a fight.
Heero stopped and looked at his child. "Lori...no one is going
to take me away from you. I can promise you that. There is no
one else I'd rather be with than you guys and your mother." He
smiled and kissed her forehead. "I'm not leaving."
Quatre pulled up to Trowa's place and got out of his car. He
walked quietly up to his door and knocked once before pushing
the door open slightly and peeking in. "Trowa?"
She looked a little less upset, but still a bit worried as he
pulled back. With a little nod, she hugged him around his neck
tightly. "I love you Daddy." she sighed; and though she couldn't
hear it, he could hear his wife's faint sobs through the air
vents.
"Living room..." the Latin man mumbled loud enough to the
Arabian to hear. He took a swig of beer and sighed deeply as he
realized it was empty. He put that bottle down along with the
ten other empty bottles he'd finished that day, and started to
open another.
Heero sighed and hugged her back then set her on the floor. "Why
don't you go play with your brother." he suggested and started
to find Ami. As he walked down the hallway his phone beeped
once. He took it out and read the new text message. 'Thanks for
the help Heero. I really appreciated it. And as for your
question when you left. I don't think it will work out. It's
hard to choose that kind of thing. Hope your kids are doing
well. Love ya kid.' He sighed once more and put his phone back
in his pocket and finally found Ami in the bathroom. "What's
wrong?" he asked, standing in the doorway, looking down at her.
Quatre walked in and found Trowa is his current state. He ran
his fingers through his now lengthy hair. "You can't beat
yourself up over this. You don't even know why she ran off like
she did."
She could only sob brokenly, barely able to make a complete
sentence. "I-i...s...screwed u-up...." she choked out, hugging
herself tighter. "I-i'm so s-sorry..." She groaned weakly.
Trowa shook his head, mumbling again, "I've lost her...I just
know it. Be it as a lover or friend...I've lost her...and
Luka..."
Heero knelt down and looked her in the eyes. "Ami, what's going
on. Tell me."
Quatre sat down next to his friend and put his hand on his
shoulder. "You don't even know that for sure. Why because she
won't answer your text messages? She won't call you? Trowa wh-"
His words were cut off when Trowa's cell phone rang a very
familiar, yet long heard ringtone.
"S-sleeping with Quatre...a-and letting Relena get to me...I-i
never once thought of you!" she cried out, her eyes red-rimmed
and swollen, still filled with tears. "I never meant to...a-and
I think...I-i think I'm..." her voice trailed off, unable to
speak the next foreboding words.
Trowa stared at his phone for a second then scrambled to answer
it. "H-hello?" he croaked, trying to clear his throat.
"Michelle??"
Heero sighed and shook his head. He reached out a hand to her,
not wanting to hear the next part of her speech. "Come on..." he
spoke. "Look, I don't really care what you've done, or who've
you've done it with. You have always been upset about me leaving
and we both know I'm getting too old for my job. You always get
overwhelmed with things that go and I can't fault you for that."
There was a heavy sigh on the other end of the line and her
voice whispered in his ear. "Hi Trowa..." she began. She must
have been outside with the kids, and maybe more of them, because
the sounds of screaming children could be heard in the
background. "Um...I got your text about two weeks ago. When I
left I shut my phone off because I knew Duo would try calling
me, and Ami...possibly you." She let out an exasperating sigh
and groaned. "Oooh Trowa, I am so sorry. I never meant for any
of this to happen. Duo-he, he said that our marriage wasn't
working. That, maybe we needed to separate. He said it was
because he knows that there is still that...friction between us.
He...'sees the way we look at each other' and wants me to find
out where my love truly lies between the two of you." Another
long drawn out sigh. "And I'm just not sure..." she fell silent
now. Quatre watched Trowa, trying to hear if it was Michelle and
hear what she was saying. But her voice to too soft, that
whispering level and he could hear nothing at all.
Ami trembled as she took his hand, allowing herself to be pulled
against her husband's chest. She buried her face in his neck and
sniffled weakly. "I-i love y-you..." she whispered.
Trowa listened intently to Michelle's every word, closing his
eyes tightly as she made the last part of her speech. He then
stood and went to the kitchen, so that what he said could remain
private. "Michelle...I'm sorry...I see now why you left so
suddenly," he murmured. "I'm just glad you're all right...how is
Luka?" He was staying away from the tender subject of her love.
Heero held her close and rested his cheek atop her head. "I'm
here for you no matter what. And I know the wrong that we both
have caused each other. The fact that we still remain this way
is only proof of the love we share." This was an unbecoming
speech from Heero, but being with Ami had really taught him to
love and show the expression of such feelings. He knew she
changed him in that way and letting her go over something like
what he knew she'd done, just wasn't in his ability now.
"Thank you for understanding, Trowa." A smile could be heard
drifting over her as he replied to her. "Luka is doing very
well. His vocabulary is expanding so much. I wish you could see
him now. Yesterday all he could do was talk about 'daddy'. I
guess he's the reason why I decided to call you." Her voice
suddenly went slightly shrill as she started to sob quietly.
"Trowa, it hurts me so badly to leave both of you behind. I
worry about you both every day because I know the impact myself
and these kids had on your lives. I just can't bring myself to
call my husband. It's too hard." She sniffled, trying to keep
herself together. "I...I j-just needed to h-hear your voice-"
she cut off in the last part of her sentence as her tears took
over and she began crying on the phone with him.
Quatre stood from the couch. He walked in and looked at Trowa,
signaling to him that he was going to leave and to call him
later if he needed him. He smiled slightly and left. As soon as
he got out to his car, he picked up his phone and looked at it.
He pushed the '2' button and hit send, the phone dialing through
to Ami.
Ami clung tighter to Heero, trembling slightly as he spoke.
"Th-thank you..." she murmured hoarsely. From the nightstand,
her phone began to ring; no particular ringtone just a regular
one. She sniffled and sighed shakily.
"Micks...no...ssh..." he murmured huskily, gripping his phone
tightly. He wanted to be there so bad, to hold her through her
time of pain. "I know it hurts...and I'm sorry...I understand
why you left. Now please, tell me where you are so I can come be
with you, so I can help you..." The former pilot had no interest
in rekindling their romance for the moment, he only wanted to
help ease her pain.

Heero sighed and kissed her forehead. He pulled away to go get
her phone. When he got to their room he picked it up and looked
at the name on the ID. "Son of a-" he growled and took the phone
to Ami. "Here..." he spoke, forcing the phone at her, letting it
drop and walking away.
Michelle sniffled and became quiet. "Thank you Trowa, but I met
someone up here who helped me out quite generously. He tried to
convince me that my decisions where meant to be tested, and that
soon enough I would have to choose. I let him know I didn't know
what I was going to do."
Ami flinched as Heero thrust the phone at her, letting it drop,
and left. She felt the tears starting all over again as she
answered the call, "H-hello?" she gasped softly.
"Oh." was all Trowa could muster.
Quatre sighed. "Ami..." he paused. "Are you alright?" He could
hear something in her voice that made her seem upset or at least
different in some way.
"Trowa...I'll come home okay? I just...well I just need to know
where I stand. You both have given me the most beautiful
children in the world. And for the most part, well...I take that
thought back, you are the only one who has yet to do me
wrong..." her voice saddened even deeper and she sighed.
"Yes...no...I-i don't know..." Ami whimpered, holding a hand to
her head. She sighed shakily. "W-what is it you called for...?"
"I love you Michelle. No matter what," Trowa's voice had a
slight growl to it.
"Well I wanted to call and check on you. I know I haven't talked
to you in awhile. I guess I miss you." he sighed, now driving
down the street.
"Trowa...as my friend...help me. What should I do? Stay up here
where I can be alone with my kids. Get my life together and let
the rest of it go. Or come home, where my husband will
practically hate me, yet still love me. And where there's always
that one man who I let come into my life and will always love.
Both of which gave me my children, the one great thing in my
life." She sighed heavily. "I need a little guidance."
"I'm alive...I'm going to see a doctor within the week..." she
murmured, curling into a ball where she sat. She had a pounding
headache. "Heero came home."
"You need to come back...leaving like you did wasn't a wise
decision...I can't speak for Maxwell, but for me having no
contact with you was pure torture." he said with a sigh. "Come
back, and live in your house...from what I last heard, he had
gotten an apartment."
Quatre paused in speech for a moment. "Oh...well then I should
probably le- wait why are you going to see a doctor?"
Michelle sighed deep on the other end. "Yeah I suppose...maybe
you're right. I need to go...and so you know...L3."
"I think II'm pregnant," she mumbled. "A-and I need to see a
psychiatrist..."
"All right Michelle..." Trowa replied softly.
Quatre was caught by surprise by her statement. He faded out in
thought and started to veer into the opposite lane. When he
heard a loud car horn hollering at him, he quickly snapped to
and swerved the car. It hit the curb on the right side and he
slammed on the brakes. His car was nearly on the sidewalk and he
stared straight ahead. "You're...wh-what?"
"I love you Trowa...goodbye." she murmured before hanging up
quickly.
"P-pregnant.." she mumbled again, tears flooding down her
cheeks. "I-i'm not sure whose it would be..." She drew in a deep
ragged breath.
As soon as she hung up, Trowa bolted from the couch and sprinted
into his room where he began throwing clothes into a duffel bag.
Within a half an hour he was speeding his way to the space port
to catch the next shuttle to L3.
Quatre dropped his head to the steering wheel. "Does Heero
know?" he asked, closing his eyes tightly, anticipating her next
response.
Michelle stared at her phone as she sat in the park with her
kids. She thought hard about calling either Ami or Duo. She
wanted to speak with Duo, to tell him how much she still loved
him. To tell him just how much she hates him too. She couldn't
decide if she wanted him back though. He was right, their
marriage was falling apart and at this point, what could she do?
He had suggested the separation. But if things needed to stay
this way, she would have to file the divorce...
"Yes..." she whispered, her voice tight and thick with emotion.
She ran a hand into her hair and held it in a fist tightly,
trying to quench the anxiousness she felt rising.
Trowa walked onto the shuttle and placed his bag in the overhead
compartment then sat down, buckling himself in. He gazed out the
window, his heart beating rapidly in his chest. Soon, he would
see his son...and the woman who held his heart.
Duo had spent the last month in a living hell. He had cut off
his arm and had it re-attached, 'broken up' with his wife, had
his whole family disappear on him, and moved out into an
apartment after paying off the entire house. He didn't talk to
anyone during this time. He never once tried contacting
Michelle, because he knew she'd not answer or reply. He didn't
let himself go however, it was in fact the opposite. He'd bought
himself one of those home gyms he'd seen on an infomercial and
used it religiously every day. On top of that, he jogged seven
miles every morning, five every night, and ate a very healthy
and balanced diet. He was in the best shape of his life. But
emotionally, he was broken and fragile.
Quatre pulled head away from the wheel only to drop it back down
with a thud. "Damnit!" he cursed and then threw himself back
against the chair. "I knew this would happen..." he murmured
running his finger through his bleach blonde hair.
"Ami...well...I love you. And I'll be here for whatever happens
alright?"
As she stared at her phone she thumbed through the numbers. Ami:
"No...prolly shouldn't..." B."no..." C."nope..." Duo. She stared
at his name and thought about his face. She smiled slightly to
remember his plump little cheeks, the way his hair was always
such a mess when he woke up next to her in the morning. How he'd
always put those old 'raybands' on whenever he'd walked outside
into the sun. 'Safety first!' he'd joke. That was another thing.
She missed his jokes, the way no matter what kind of pain he was
in, he would always make some kind of joke. Then she remembered
the last time she saw him. When she'd broken down in front him.
She remembered hearing the beep of his morphine as he scrambled
so desperately to get down on the floor with her. Only one armed
too. Her eyes filled with heavy sorrow and swelled with tears.
"How can I not love him..." she whispered to herself. Duo had
been the one who picked her up off her feet when they first met.
She'd been completely lost, an orphan who's life had been
changed by the wars. No place to go, hardly any money from her
tiny job to support even herself. All he had done for her and
here she sits in central park of L3, while her husband sits at
home, half an arm and doing only God knows. She couldn't bare to
think how many times since she left he might have seriously
thought about returning to war. 'Send'. She put the phone to her
ear and listened to the ringback tone on the other end.
Ami flinched and her breath hitched as Quatre cursed. "Y-yes..."
she choked out, now trying to calm her breathing.
His phone rang and rang. He was working out at the moment, and
his phone was charging in the kitchen where he couldn't hear it.
His voicemail picked up for her, "This is Duo, leave a
message...and if this is Micki, I love you."
"I should go..." he whispered. "I will call you later this
week..." He didn't wait before he hung up, but it was good
timing as Heero came around the corner to Ami still in the
bathroom.
'Well?" he asked, leaning against the wall and folding his arms
over his chest.
Michelle listened to the recording and sighed. Tears continued
to fill her eyes and she gasped as his last words came out. She
hung up the phone quickly and then looked at it. "Duo..." she
whispered. She took some deep breaths and selected his number
again. She could only be thinking about his voice. The words he
said really struck her. She hit the 'send' button again.

Re: Cry For The Dream
By: Havok Date: July 21, 2013, 3:04 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
"C-can't...can't breathe..." she choked out; and it was clear
now that Quatre had caused this anxiety/panic attack.
She again got his voicemail, and again she heard those heartfelt
words. "...and if this is Micki, I love you."
Heero picked Ami up off the floor and carried her to her bed and
laid her down. He pulled a bottle of her pills from the bedside
table and handed one of them to her. He walked to the kitchen
and pulled a small glass down, filled it with water and took it
back to her. "What's going on Ami..." he inquired quietly.
Michelle sighed as she listened to it again. She heard the beep
and began recording her message. She was feeling a bit lyrical
as she recorded and spoke. "Duo, I want to come home. And I know
things weren't great before but I've had a lot of time to think.
I should have listened to my heart a little more when it came to
you. At least then it wouldn't have taken me so long to know
where I belong. I love you deeply. And I'd rather spend an
eternity in hell than to be without you."
Ami looked at Heero dizzily after she'd taken her medication.
"I-i told him everything...h-he said h-he'd be here for m-me..."
her breath was starting to return to normal and her heart was
slowing down.
Duo grunted as he lifted his weights. He was shirtless and
covered in a glistening sweat as he pushed himself harder.
"The hell he will be..." Heero retorted and and sat at the foot
of her bed.
Michelle hung up the phone and tucked it away in her purse.
"He's probably angry with me still..." she murmured to herself
watching her kids play on the playground with about ten other
children. She sat by herself under a shady tree on a bench and
sighed heavily. The other parents sat together and talked, but
Michelle had rather been alone. "I hope he's alright..." she
whispered.
Ami sat up and hugged her husband from behind, resting her
forehead against his back between his shoulder blades. She spoke
no words, only held onto him desperately.
Duo continued to work out, as was his daily routine in life now.
Trowa was landing in the space port and was tapping his foot
impatiently as he waited for them to clear the unboarding.
Heero sat as Ami hugged him. "So what is your plan?" he asked,
turning his head slightly.
Michelle pulled out a book from her satchel she carried for the
kids. She opened it up and started to read. The chapters within
the book were filled with a lusting romance where a perfect
couple had been separated. A group of thugs kidnapped the woman
and raped her, then sent photos to the man with a note that said
they wanted a ransom or his life. Over the pages the man had
never given up, he had never surrendered his life to the will of
these men. He kept pushing and doing anything to get to the
woman he loved. Michelle started thinking about Duo that way.
She wondered why, after all they'd been through, why hadn't he
come after her? If he never wanted her to leave, shouldn't he
have come after her? She sighed heavily and continued reading.
"As soon I can...I-i want a paternity test..." she sniffled
quietly. She didn't mention anything about what she would do if
it wasn't her husband's child in her belly.
After waiting a half an hour, Trowa sprinted off the shuttle and
started to look for all the parks. With all the background noise
he'd heard when she called, he figured that the park would be
his best chance of finding her.
"And...if it turns up to be his..." he began, and stopped
waiting her response. He wrung his hands together, annoyed and
upset all at once. No, he wasn't very upset about what she'd
done. She was always being hurt by him and he knew it. He loved
her, and he knew that no matter who she slept with she still
loved him very much. He knew she was his for life, and he didn't
want to let that go.
Michelle put her book back in the bag and picked Luka up out of
the small sand box. "Citty, Dj, lets go. We'll get some lunch."
she called out. The two came running to the idea of lunch and
followed, hand in hand, walking from the center of the large
park out to the bus stop.
Ami drew in a ragged breath. "I-if it's his...then I'll keep it
and he can have visitation and pay child support, I don't care,
I won't---" she swallowed to calm herself. "I won't let this
ruin us..."
Luck be a lady; and there she was standing as beautiful as ever
at the bus stop. Right across the street from where Trowa stood.
He blinked back tears as he started to walk across the street,
cars blaring their corns as they slammed on their brakes to
avoid hitting the man.
Michelle was distracted by the sounds of the horns and turned to
see the commotion. "Trowa!" she gasped, tears immediately
flooding through. She started sobbing as she walked quickly to
him when he reached the sidewalk. "Trowa I'm so...o-oh my God!"
She held Luka in her arms as she hugged him tightly and buried
her face in his chest. Citty and DJ walked over, still holding
hands and watched.
Heero sighed. "Alright..." he spoke, standing and touching her
cheek. "I'm going to go shower."
"I love you Heero Yuy..." Ami whispered softly, kissing his
wrist as he touched her cheek.
"Micks...oh Michelle...." Trowa held onto her and their son
tightly, tears of joy flooding down his cheeks.
"Love you Ami." Heero responded and went to get his shower
taken.
Michelle held onto him tightly and then pulled away. "What are
you doing here?!" she asked wiping away her tears vigorously.
She hated to let people see her cry. It was most of the reason
she wanted to leave Duo so badly that day. She didn't want him
to see her cry over him.
As Heero went to shower, Ami picked up her cell phone and called
the only doctor she ever trusted; Dr. J. She made an appointment
to have a pregnancy test and also to evaluate her mental state.
"I had to see you..." he murmured, wiping away his own tears. "I
missed you so much."
As Heero showered, the house phone started ringing.
Michelle kissed him softly on the cheek. "I'm glad you
did...thank you." she smiled. "Come on. I was just heading back
to our apartment for some lunch."
Ami walked over and answered it tiredly. "Hello?"
"Of course.." Trowa smiled and took Luka from her as the bus
arrived.

"Hello Ami." spoke a voice that was far too familiar."I heard
Heero came back today. I'd like to talk with him please." she
chirped.
Michelle boarded the kids onto the bus with Trowa and they went
to the back and sat for their ride home.
"He just got into the shower Relena," Ami spoke her voice flat.
"I'll tell him you called."
Trowa smiled and spoke to Luka softly as they waited to arrive
at the apartment.
"It's very important Ami. It can't wait. I have some really
important news that he, as a father, should know about." She
chimed.
Michelle looked at Trowa and sighed, then frowned at him.
"Trowa..." she spoke and took his hand, holding it tight.
"Look, Darlian....he's in the fucking shower and when he's out
I'll tell him you called so just shut the hell up!!" Ami
shouted, very unlike her. She was holding the phone so tightly
her hand was turning white. She felt dizzy too, and her head was
pounding. Heero...a father...is she?...No...
Trowa looked at Michelle and held her hand tightly, "I'm sorry I
came without telling you..."
"Well something tells me you aren't even going to tell him I
called! So maybe I just wanted to make sure I got to talk to
him!!" Relena shot back at Ami, she knew it wasn't smart, but
she didn't care. This woman had taken Heero from her for too
long.
"It's okay, I'm glad you then, so I can tell you..." she bowed
her head as tears flowed again. "I-I'm going h-home..." the pain
in her eyes told him where her 'home' was.
Something snapped inside of Ami. "You know what...maybe its time
I end this once and for all Relena..." she growled
threateningly.
Trowa felt his heart sink. He blinked back the tears in his eyes
and took a shaky breath. "O-okay..."
"I dare you to Ami! What do you really think you'd get away
with?" she cackled into the phone.
Michelle hated to see Trowa hurt as he was. "At least for now. I
j-just need to sit and talk with Duo. Make sure we are going to
be okay on the same paths together..."
"Slit your throat while you're sleeping Darlian!!" Ami screamed
now. Her head was killing her, it felt like it was on fire.
"I'll fucking kill you you dirty little whore!! I'd like to see
you try and stop me!!"
"All right...just keep me posted on what's going on...please,"
he mumbled hoarsely, then cleared his throat.
"I am appalled Ami Yuy! It's nice to know that you think so
highly of me. I hope you realize I have connections with people
who can remove you permanently. Now I suggest you make sure
Heero gets the message that I called." 'click'
Heero heard screaming from inside his shower when Ami started
hollering. He quickly shut the water off and pulled a towel
around him, running out to check on her. "What is going on?!" he
spoke sternly.
"Trowa?" she spoke, looking at him. "You're going to stay
tonight right? And go back with me tomorrow?" She gaze him a
hopeful look and a nudge, holding his hand tight.
Ami gasped as Heero came out and dropped her phone, holding her
head in severe pain. "I'm gonna kill her!!" she wailed, a
grimace on her delicate features. "M-my head...my head hurts!!!"
"Of course I will," he gave her a weak but true smile.
Heero grabbed her up and pulled her into him. "Ami, what's
wrong? Who are you talking about?"
Michelle smiled and leaned in kissing him deeply. One thing she
had not done since just shortly after their son was born. That
was some time ago.
"Relena..." Ami moaned in pain, tears started running down her
face and she rocked against Heero, whimpering. "Please...make my
head stop hurting...it hurts so much!"
Trowa closed his eyes and kissed her back softly, yet with
passion. He missed the feeling of her lips against his, and
savored the moment.
Heero looked at her. He'd never seen her in this much pain
before. "Ami..." he whispered. "Shit!" He carried her to the
bedroom and got on his phone. "Come on Duo damnit!" he cursed
waiting for the braided moron to answer his phone.
Michelle fell into the moment but then realized where she was
and realized the kids were all there. She pulled back and looked
up at him. 'I'm sorry...' she mouthed, clearing her throat and
readjusting in the seat.
By now Duo had finished his work out and was gulping down ice
water from his water bottle when his phone went off. He grabbed
it and flipped it open. "Yeah?" he answered.
Trowa licked his lips and nodded, wishing they could have
continued the moment but knowing she was right to pull back.
Heero spat at the braided man. "Get over here now! Something is
wrong with Ami and I have to have someone to watch the kids
while I take her in."
Michelle kept a hold of his hand as they stopped at her bus
stop. She and the kids got out right in front of her apartment.
She made sure she didn't let go of Trowa's hand.

"Geez okay okay I'm leaving now!" Duo fumbled over his words
then hung up. He sprayed himself with some Axe body spray and
grabbed his keys, quickly heading over.
Trowa kept held of Michelle's hand tightly, and started in with
the lot of them. He'd miss her terribly.
Heero headed out to the living room while listening to him. When
he hung up, Heero flipped his phone shut and tossed it on the
couch. He then quickly started looking around for anything that
Ami would need once they got to the hospital. His phone slipped
in between the cushions and he went to get Ami. He carried her
out to the car and had her wait there with the a/c running in
the car until Duo got there. He went back and stood inside the
door, trying to make sure everything was together.
Michelle led the two kids, Luka on her hip and Trowa up to their
apartment. She opened the door and sighed. She would have to
call her friend soon and find out what he wants to do with the
property he'd helped her get since she was going home tomorrow
instead of waiting two more weeks.
Duo pulled in and parked and got out quickly. He'd sped the
entire way there. "Go take her, I'll make sure the kids are all
right," he said to the Japanese man as he headed inside.
Once inside Trowa took Luka, "I'll give him a quick bath and put
him down for a nap." the Latin man spoke softly as he kissed
Michelle's cheek.
Heero nodded, a stern look on his face. He got into the car
quickly and peeled out of the driveway. He reached his hand over
and touched Ami's hand. "You'll be alright." he told her, trying
to reassure her. "I'm here for you...whatever you need."
Michelle nodded and went to sit on the couch while Citty and Dj
went to play in their room. Michelle pulled her phone from her
pocket and while Trowa was gone, she was going to call her
friend. She found his number and hit 'send'.
Ami whimpered weakly, she couldn't even acknowledge him at this
point, the pain was so great. She couldn't see much of anything
and she'd given up on fighting through the pain. She closed her
eyes tightly and grabbed hold of his hand tightly when she felt
his touch.
When Duo sat down he felt an odd sort of vibration and he got
this weird look on his face. He groaned silently and started to
feel around in the couch for whatever it was. Please tell me
they don't have a... "Oh." It was just Heero's phone but as he
looked at the screen he got a look on his face as he saw the
caller ID. He silently answered it and put it to his ear,
grunting as if he were Heero.
Heero patted her leg as he raced down the street. It would take
only a couple of minutes to get to the hospital. Hopefully they
wouldn't have to wait long to get into the ER.
"Hey Heero..." she responded in a low tone so Trowa wouldn't
hear. "I guess I'm not going to be staying the entire estimated
time we had discussed. I need to know what you want me to do
with this place before I leave tomorrow afternoon."
Ami breathed raggedly through the pain, she pretty much had no
idea what was going on. When they made it to the hospital there
was immediate parking in the front, and not alot of cars there
either.
Duo turned white. He recognized that voice all too well.
"M...Michelle..." he struggled with himself, trying to contain
the anger at the fact that Heero had had contact with her all
the time. And that he knew where she was.
Heero hurried Ami inside once there and checked her in. Not many
cars were there but there were still a few people. They got her
into a room and started their work to find out what was going
on.
Michelle raised a brow. "Are you alright Heero?" she asked.
"Look I figured I could either leave this place to sit for when
you might need it up here, or I could sell it with your contact
info. What do you think? I can't talk long, Trowa came up to
visit with Luka and he's giving him a bath before we all head to
bed."
A nurse took Ami's vitals, and after seeing her in the state of
pain that she was, moved them to the top of list. Within ten
minutes, a doctor came in. "All right, so the primary reason of
course is the pain she's in...have you noticed any of other
changes? Any in her behavior perhaps?"
"Tr-Trowa?!" he gasped, feeling himself start to lose control of
his anger. Trowa was up there...and staying the night...
Heero stood next to Ami the entire time and when the Doctor came
in he sighed. "I came back from a trip out of town, she was fine
when I left and when I came back, she'd chopped her hair off
like this, she's completely emotional, and she got a temper
really bad." he explained in his cool calm fashioned tone. He
squeezed her hand and ran his other hand over her head.
Michelle sighed. "Yeah, I spoke with him earlier about going
home to Duo. I guess while he was trying to get me to choose him
without saying so, he helped me decide that going home to Duo
was my best decision." Tears started in her eyes and it could be
heard in her voice. "I'm sorry Heero, I know you don't really
care about all this crap, and it's beside the point. So just let
me know what you want me to do. I'll be back home tomorrow
night. I'm sure Duo will be pretty happy to see me...I-I hope!"
Her last word jumped in octaves as she spoke it, her tears
bursting through from fear that her return would be not such a
great idea.
"Hm. All right. We'll start a morphine drip for the pain and I
want her to get a cat-scan and an MRI as well. I'll put those in
immediately." He jotted down some stuff on her chart and a nurse
came in, giving Ami the IV drip. She barely noticed but seemed
to settle down as the morphine began coursing through her
system.
"So..you're coming home..." Duo spoke hoarsely. There was no
denying it was him now. He wasn't sure what he felt at this
moment.
Heero listened carefully to everything everyone was saying. He
sighed when they brought in the IVs and watched her progress as
she calmed down. Running his hand over her forehead, he leaned
in and kissed her temple.
Michelle paused and froze. She knew his voice, and that wasn't
Heero she was speaking to. "D-duo?" she asked, clutching the
phone tighter, and looking to the door hoping Trowa wouldn't
come out while she was still on the phone.
Ami mumbled incoherently and the next hour was quickly taken up
by her tests. It would be another half hour before the doctor
could give Heero the results of the scans.
"Y-yeah...its me..." Duo whispered into the phone. "H-heero took
Ami to the hospital...."
Michelle's heart skipped a beat. "Wh-why did she go there?" she
asked, trying to forget everything she'd just told him.
"Don't know..." he muttered. There was an awkward pause. He
sighed shakily. "Michelle...I-i don't want to do this over the
phone...but I-i'm glad you're coming home." he spoke, his voice
again going hoarse. "I've m-missed you and the kids..."
