Trunks turned and looked at the t.v. "What about it?" Currently,
there was a expose' about some new baby Panda's at the local
zoo. "You passed out over Panda's?" he laughed and sat her up.
"Ami are you alright? What's going on?"
Michelle sat at the table, and she could sense he'd gotten
upset. But she'd rather him get upset by warning him, than just
not telling him at all.

Ami shook her head, crying brokenly. "N-no!" she whimpered,
looking up at him tearfully. "Th-the news...Wing
Zero...s-self-destructed..." She tried to take a breath to calm
herself down.
As Duo finished, he gulped down the OJ and sighed, full from her
delicious breakfast. "I'll only take a little nap, then we can
do something." he said as he took his dishes to the sink.

Trunks looked back at the T.V. He sighed and then sat down,
wrapping his arms around her. "Yeah I saw that last night...I
didn't want to disturb you since you'd already passed out. They
said they didn't find any survivors."
"Okay...Duo?" she asked, trying to stop him before he went to
bed. "Did you watch any news last night?" She hoped he hadn't so
maybe she could try to break the news about his friend to him a
little better than what the news had done. She knew Ami was
informed by now.

Ami tensed in Trunks' arms with another whimper. She clung to
him, sniffling and trying to calm down. It was getting harder
for her to hold in the tears at this point.
"No, why?" he asked tiredly, taking his shoes off to put them in
the hall closet.

Trunks sighed and ran his hand over her hair. "Have you tried to
call him? What about Junior?"
Michelle sighed and put her fork down. She got up and walked
over to him, taking his hands in her's. "Yesterday Ami and Heero
got into a fight I guess. I don't know the whole story...but
around eight o'clock last night, the news was getting footage of
rescue pulling Relena's burned body out from underneath Wing
Zero. They said they found no survivors..." She laid the last
part on very carefully, knowing how close Duo and Heero were.

"N-no I just saw it...and Junior didn't want to leave with us,"
she whispered, laying her cheek against his chest. She was
starting to calm down now.
Duo looked at her blankly at she spoke. "He wouldn't...he
survived. He had to. He can never kill himself when he
self-destructs!" he shouted, disbelieving.

"Maybe you should try calling him. If it's what you think
happened, then you need to find out how your son is-"
"Trunks!" Vegeta's gruff voice growled. "What the hell are you
doing?" He stood in the door way, now leaning against the frame
with his arms folded over his chest.
"Nothing father..." he murmured, and proceeded to get up from
her side and walk out of the room, leaving Lori for her parents.
"Good." he scoffed and walked in sitting next to Ami. "What
happened?"
Michelle pulled Duo into her. "I don't know Duo, they said they
found no survivors. I can't really say for sure." she whispered,
running her hand up his back. She pulled away from him. "I'm
sorry. This could have waited. You need to get some sleep..."

Ami wiped her eyes with a heavy sigh. "I-i saw on that news that
Heero's gundam had self-destructed...Relena was killed." she
murmured, tucking hair behind her ear. "I may have told him I
wanted a divorce but I don't want him dead...I have to go see
for myself, and to see Junior."
Duo rubbed the bridge of his nose and nodded, trudging upstairs
slowly. Once in his room however, he pulled out his cell phone
and immediately called Heero.

Vegeta looked at her with no expression. "He's tried this
several times...I doubt he could manage is this time." Vegeta
grumbled, uncaring if the half-wit died or not.
Heero's cell phone started ringing from downstairs where he'd
left it when he went down last night. He'd not even heard it
from the shower and by the time he finally stepped out, it had
stopped, forcing Duo's call to go to voicemail. "Yuy, leave a
message..." spoke his dull voice when it picked up.
Michelle sighed and put her shoes on and decided to go for a
walk while Duo got some rest.

Ami sat there quietly and looked at Lori who was playing with a
toy that Trunks had left with her. After growling at it and
snapping it into a bunch of pieces, she looked up at her parents
with a grin. "Would you sacrifice yourself again?" Ami asked,
brushing her hand over their daughter's hair. "Like you did when
Majin Buu took over you...." She didn't add in the part that he
had done it for Bulma and Trunks, because back then she hadn't
cared.
Duo immediately hung up, waited a second, and dialed it again.
He would do this obsessively until someone answered. He just had
this feeling that his best friend was still alive.
