"All right...I love you too. Goodnight." Goku murmured softly
before hanging up. He sighed deeply and went to go check on his
niece before going to bed.

When morning shone through Heero's living window, he winced at
the light and sat up. He looked around sighed, still no Ami, all
he'd had left was his son who defied everything Ami had told him
about going with her. At least he had that much. He got up,
limping on his broken leg and walked to the bathroom to shower
again.
Vegeta awoke, still curled to Ami and yawned as he sat up in
bed. Carefully, he started to get up and go take his shower
before he started training.
Michelle had been up since before the sun rose, right there with
the kids on their way out for school. She had kissed her
daughter goodbye, the eldest of them all, and the last to need
to be at school, and then started to make a bit of breakfast,
still never sure if Duo'd come home the night before.

Junior was still sound asleep, curled in his bed. He was
dreaming peacefully as his father limped to the bathroom to take
a shower.
Ami stirred slightly as Vegeta got up and shivered as his body
heat left her. She curled up and sighed deeply, trying to get
back to sleep, but it was no use. She was completely awake.
"Vegeta..." she murmured.
Duo came in through the door just as the kids had left. He
looked tired, had a five'o'clock shadow, and his suit was
wrinkled. He'd spent the entire night at the office pushing
himself to finish the project he was given; and now he had an
entire two weeks off work. "Michelle?" he called out tiredly.

Heero stood as best he could in the shower and sighed as the hot
water ran down his bruised and cut face. The water hid the tears
he was shedding, and he had always been good at shower every
ounce of pain he held. "Ami..." he whispered. He'd lost whatever
he had worked to gain, and he was hoping that he could correct
it somehow and get her back. But sometimes, lies can't be
forgiven even if they don't seem like lies.
Vegeta turned and looked at Ami. "What?" he asked quietly,
raising a brow.
"I'm in the kitchen, Duo!" Michelle called back, taking some
eggs off the stove and piling them with the bacon she'd already
made. "Where you out all night?" she asked, somewhat accusingly.

She winced as she sat up and checked her head. "Nothing
really...I think I'm all right now..." she carefully stood up.
"Should Lori and I stay...?" Ami asked quietly, looking at the
saiyan prince from under her lashes.
"At the office, finishing up a project," Duo replied tiredly as
he walked into the kitchen and sat at the table. He yawned and
stretched.

Vegeta sighed and sat at the foot of the bed. He grabbed the
remote and turned on the tv. "No you can stay for a little while
if you want to." The news was on, reporting an update from the
previous night's happenings. They were re-rolling footage of the
fire being put out and the search team trying to find any
bodies. One shot was of a rescue team pulling Relena's burnt
body from the rubble. Most of the mess was of the large Gundam,
laid over in a smoldering mess. Vegeta tossed the remote at Ami
and headed for the door. "Watch some t.v. if you like. I'm going
to shower." He'd not even noticed what was on the television
when he started walking.
"All night long?!" she asked, shocked, now pulling two plates
down from the cupboard.

Ami caught the remote and nodded, turning her attention to the
TV now as Vegeta started to walk out. What she saw, however,
stunned her into a dizzy silence. All she could see was a
charred body that they identified as Relena's and Wing Zero,
burnt and destroyed. The next thing she saw was the world
turning sideways as she went into shock and fell over onto her
side on the bed.
"Yeah...it had to be done by--" Duo checked his watch and ran a
hand through his hair. "an hour ago. Thankfully I got it done."
He grinned weakly and looked up at her.

Trunks walked in a few moments later with Lori. "Ami, I got Lori
changed and fe-" he started, but quickly stopped when he found
Ami laid over in a not so 'bedtime' position. "Ami?" he asked,
letting Lori down and walking over. He grabbed her by the
shoulder's and gently started to shake her awake. "Ami, wake
up!"
Michelle sighed and handed him a plate that she dished up for
him. "Well get something to eat and then you can go lay down for
a little while." She smiled and walked by him, kissing him
gently. "Next week, Goku is going to be taking Dj to start
training." she didn't want to tell him that she was thinking
about going as well. She knew she still needed some more
training.

Ami gasped after a few moments and grabbed Trunks' arms.
"T-TV..." she managed as tears began flooding her eyes. "Trunks
I...I..." She burst into tears and collapsed against chest,
sobbing deeply. She wasn't sure if Heero was alive or not;
regardless of their marital status, she hardly wanted him dead!
Duo kissed Michelle back as she gave him the plate. Her next
sentence however, put him in a slightly irate mood. "Ah..." he
muttered as he began shoveling food in his mouth. DJ was always
a bit of a sore subject when the name 'Goku' was included.
Regardless, he loved his son as if he was his own.
