Vegeta grumbled as he walked into Ami's guest room and sat at
the foot of her bed, watching her sleep for a few moments. He
then crawled next to her and put his arm around her, kissing the
lobe of her ear. It felt good to have her in his arms like this.

Ami was sound asleep. As Vegeta crawled into bed with her and
kissed at her ear, she sighed softly and snuggled back against
him.
Goku sighed happily as he sated his hunger, then picked up the
phone to call Michelle.

Trunks had laid Lori down in a playpen they had folded away in
the den and covered her with some warm blankets. He sat next to
her for a few moments and admired the way his tiny sister looked
just like his father. He smiled and got up and went to his own
room noting it was nearly ten o'clock now.
Michelle awoke on the couch to the phone ringing above her head.
"Err..." she grumbled, blinking from the light of the lamp and
reached disoriented for the phone. "Hello?" she asked, in a
groggy voice.
Heero shot up out of the chair from a dead sleep, a cold sweat
covering his body. The images of Ami telling him it was over,
laying on that couch no clothing on. Vegeta lurching over her as
he was. Those images haunted him now he looked at the make-shift
splint/cast on his leg and sighed. It was all his own proof that
he had been the one to finally take out the last of the Darlian
family. Relena wasn't the only one he'd taken out either. He ran
his fingers through his locks of hair and rested his head back
on the chair. He wanted so badly to go back to his bed, but
sleeping in it without his wife just wasn't worth it. It was
only because of her that he started sleeping in a regular bed.
Without her, he'd just return to what he'd always known. As he
closed his eyes, a single tear dropped down his left cheek and
he gasped a sighed before he went back to sleep.

"Hey Michelle..." Goku said quietly, as not to alert his wife as
to whom he was calling. "I don't know what went on when I left,
but apparently Ami was on her way over here with Lorelei and
some explosion made her crash into Vegeta's place...she seems to
be fine, so they're staying there." He paused to let this sink
in. Really, he was only calling because he missed her voice.
Nightmares began to plague Ami. She was seeing images of a life
that never was, but one she had always feared. Heero with
Relena, a blonde infant with striking silver-blue eyes in the
woman's arms. Ami left alone with three children, and another on
the way. She whimpered in her sleep and began to squirm.

She cleared her throat and sat up. "Oh...um-" she yawned, "yeah,
I don't know about Ami leaving, but I guess that explains why
Heero did what he did." She sniffled and stretched, looking at
the time. "W-why are you calling so late?" she asked, stifling
another yawn. "Good thing Duo hasn't come home yet..." she
paused to think. "I think anyway." she chuckled.

"Just thought I'd call and le--wait, Heero did what now?" The
saiyan frowned, wondering if his sister's husband had anything
to do with the explosion that harmed said sister.

She yawned again and rubbed her eyes. "It was all over the news.
I guess Heero piloted his Gundam over to the Darlian estate and
detonated it. That's all they released so far. More than likely,
knowing Heero, he probably destroyed himself in the mess. So it
looks like Ami's problems are all dissolved. No more Relena, and
she is no longer married by default." she chuckled a little.
"Served him right to be honest. I still wanna know what that
whole thing was about today..."

Goku was silent on the other line. Heero did that? It made him
wonder if his sister's husband was still alive, and if he'd done
that to cover up something. Either way...he probably needed to
go check on Junior. The boy wasn't with Ami and if Heero was
dead or injured, he should at least be with his uncle.

"Goku?" she whispered, rubbing her eyes. "I was thinking about
what we talked about earlier...and I guess you're right. He
really should start his training. We all know what a Saiyan is
like when they aren't trained to control their anger..." she
blushed, referring to herself.

"Okay...We can start it next week. And if you want, you can come
along with him whenever he comes here to train," Goku offered in
a soft voice. Inside, he hoped she'd accept this proposal so he
could spend time with his 'family'.
