Duo nodded and went to go clean up their little mess from
eating. "I'll pick them up as soon as I'm done cleaning up," he
responded as she flipped through channels.
Ami almost cringed when she saw the pain in her husband's eyes,
but hid it from him. "They're with Goku..." she murmured
quietly, bracing herself on his chest. He was so warm, and he
smelled so good. She didn't realize how much she missed this;
missed him.

Michelle sighed and stopped on a random channel as she fell
asleep rather hastily. Her stomach turned, and she felt as
though she could throw up again so she closed her eyes and was
out in an instant. The house phone rang a moment or so after
that, it barely disturbed Michelle at all.
Heero stiffened his posture a bit. He cared deeply for Ami, and
he recognized that she was obviously from another alien race
than himself, but he cared very little for her family outside.
Her brother was far too excitable, and yet very dangerous at
times. He dislike his demeanor all together. Heero'd never met
Goku's wife and was briefly introduced to his son Gohan who was
only about ten now. The boy got into all sorts of trouble and
was constantly trying to bring out this...saiyan entity within
Heero's own children. He sighed and nodded. "They should come
home...they need to know I'm okay. And I would like to see all
of you before I leave next week." He moved his hand to her
cheek, stroking it lightly with the backside of his hand and his
knuckles. "I will fix this; all of it. I just hope that you will
be there too, when I come home."

"I'll bring them home..." the woman whispered, her voice thick
with emotion. "We'll all be here waiting for you, when you come
home..."
Now Michelle's phone began to ring.

Heero smirked, pleased and then moved his hand away from her
cheek. He looked at the time and sighed lightly. "I need to
leave for about an hour. I'll be back though." He put his hand
to the back of Ami's head and pulled her towards him, touching
his soft, tender lips to her forehead before turning and heading
for the door.
Michelle grumbled as her phone rang and vibrated on the table
next to her head. She lifted her hand and slammed her hand down
on top of it, pulling it into her grasp, now realizing the house
phone was ringing too. She looked at the id on her phone as she
called to Duo. "Get the phone..."

Right as the machine was about to pick up, Duo snatched the
receiver off the hook. ""Hello??" he answered breathlessly. His
hands were still soapy from cleaning, but it didn't matter. The
ID on Michelle's phone was her doctor's office.
"All right Heero..." Ami murmured, closing her eyes as he kissed
her forehead. She sighed quietly and watched as he headed for
the door. "Just so you know.. I.. I ended it with Vegeta..."

Heero's heart silently skipped a beat, as he paused, his hand on
the doorknob. A smirk crossed his face in the shadows and he
nodded. "Ok." he replied, opening the door and stepping out,
closing it behind him. He straightened up and looked at the
coming of night in the skyline. It was nearly five o'clock now,
and he started wondering just what had happened while Ami was
gone.
Michelle rubbed her eyes and answered her phone quietly.
"Hello?" she answered.
"Duo?!" a hurried voice answered on the other end. "Duo, it's
Quatre! We have a problem!"

"Hello Mrs. Maxwell, this is Jackie from Dr. Wang's office.
We're just calling to remind you it's about that time for your
annual check-up. Would you like to schedule it now?"
Duo almost cringed at the urgency in Quatre's voice, then
sighed. "What is it Q-man?" he asked carefully. More often than
not, the Arabian man was having trouble with some sort of device
in his home.
As Heero walked out the front door, Ami turned and exited out
the patio door. She took a deep breath, taking a slight pause,
before flying off towards Goku's house.

Michelle sat up and rubbed her eyes. "Uh, yeah that's ok. I can
do that. What do you have open?"
Quatre slowed his words now and took a deep breath. "It's Heero,
Duo. He's taken a job for Tsubarov's successor. Some...cocky kid
who took over. He's talked Heero into testing out a new weapon
for them, and Heero's heading over to their office tomorrow
morning to sign on with their company. He leaves in a few weeks
to start test training, and it's a bad mission Duo. It's a hunt
for the 'Final Four'." His voice was less panicked but still
shuddered with concern. "I don't know what to do, Duo. We have
to stop him some how."
Heero walked to the garage and started of his old beater of a
car that he'd not driven in years. It roared as he pulled out of
the driveway and studdered down the street.

"We have an opening tomorrow afternoon at 1:15pm actually," the
nurse replied. "Would you like me to put you down for that
time?"
Duo's heart dropped and he gripped the phone. "Are you... are
you sure? Maybe Heero doesn't quite know what he's doing, like
when Wufei joined Mariemaia's army..." his voice trailed off.
Even as he spoke the words, he knew how foolish they sounded. No
matter what, Heero had always known what he was doing. He was
just lying to himself about his best friend.
Within a matter of minutes, Ami was gently landing on her
brother Goku's lawn and knocking on the door before walking in.

"Yeah, that's a good time for me." she smiled slightly, yawning.
"Well, when I found out about this whole mission, I had to call
you and just before I did, they said that it's a blind mission.
This weapon is just like Epion, Duo. It's a lot smarter though
and you remember how Heero reacted to that. He was blinded by
it. He's not going to know what he's doing while he's in this
thing. It's going to come after us and he's not even going to be
able to stop himself." Quatre's voice cracked, thinking about
where his life had gotten in these last several years. "If we
can't save him, then it's all over for us..."
Heero drove a mile or so, and stop in front of a tall structure,
lines with thousands of glass windows. He pulled into a parking
space in front of a meter. He tossed a couple of dimes in the
machine and walked into the main entrance. A woman at the
receptionist's desk knew him right away and ushered him to the
elevator. "He's waiting for you." she spoke. "Seventeenth
floor." She smiled sweetly as Heero walked in and pressed the
button labeled, "17". He rode the elevator up to that floor.
Goku was in the living room, passed out on the couch with Gohan
on one side and Ami's son on the other, all three asleep.
