Duo left dinner to finish cooking and set a timer. Walking out
he handed Michelle a plate of food and sat down beside her with
his own plate.

"Mmm" she groaned, taking the first bite. It only took a few
moments though before she finished, and her fork clanked on the
plate. She looked at Duo who would have only gotten half way
through his plate and grinned. "That's awesome, I'm getting
more." she chuckled.

She served herself this time, serving a very large portion onto
her plate. There would still be plenty for the boys and Citty
when they would finally get home. She walked out and plopped
back down on the couch and continued eating, not caring how
large her portion was.

"I'm just wondering...so much has been going on lately." He
sighed and started to thumb through his pocket calendar. "Hey,
do you need me to pick anything up for you later?"

Michelle shook her head and then suddenly stopped chewing her
food. A look of complete discomfort washed over her face as she
quickly got up, spitting her mouthful of food into the trash and
running for the bathroom after dropping her plate on the kitchen
counter. From the living room, sounds of gagging and coughing
could be heard and after a few moments, a loud groan protruded
from the doorway. "What the hell was that...?" she asked,
grumbling and holding her stomach as she walked back into the
living room and fell onto her back on the couch. She tossed her
arm over her eyes and sighed deeply.
After some moments, Heero removed his arm from his face and
looked around the room. A throbbing in his still mending leg
struck him and he sat up grabbing his bottle of pain killers. He
popped a few into his mouth and took a large drink from a glass
of water nearby. He arched over and looked around the room. With
a heavy hearted sigh, he urged himself up from the couch and
slowly walked down the hallway to his bedroom. The door creaked
as he slowly opened it and stood in the doorway. Light from
outside was dimming from the oncoming night, Heero just stood as
a shadowy figure in the doorway. His moss brown hair was askew
as he stood and looked over Ami laying in their bed. "Ami..." he
murmured quietly, no expression upon his face whatsoever. He was
still pretty trashed from the many drinks he'd had over the last
few hours. "I'm sorry if you want to hate me, if you want to
leave me. I'm sorry if Vegeta makes you feel better than I do.
I'm sorry that I have never really been around, and I'm sorry
that I have never really been a great husband or father. I'm
sorry that everything has come down to this. I'm sorry you feel
you have to leave. And I'm sorry that I don't have more to say
to make you stay. I'm sorry that our lives are coming to this,
and that you feel you can't trust me anymore. And I'm sorry that
I can't live up to what you would like me to be. However, I'm
not sorry that our paths crossed, nor that we made the life we
have. I'm not sorry that we created the children we did, or made
it as far as we have. If there's one thing I can promise you,
it's that when I come home in six months, if you'll still have
me, all of me, you will have my complete attention. One hundred
percent devotion, and I'll do my entire best to be the man you
need. I'm not afraid to try, not for you. I'm only invisibly
afraid to lose you. Just remember, I will love you, forever and
always, Aims..." he sighed finally finishing his speech and
turned from the doorway and started back down the hallway for
the guest bedroom.

"Is my cooking really that bad?" Duo laughed but went over to
his wife to check on her. He held the back of his hand to her
forehead, "Well you don't have a fever... maybe it's a stomach
bug." He got back up and went to the kitchen, then reappeared
with some cold ginger ale and some plain un-salted crackers.
Setting them up on the end table, he then went and retrieved a
small plastic trash can for her. "There you go Micki, everything
you could need... so... whatcha wanna do?'
Having listened to his speech, Ami bolted up, ran to Heero and
grabbed his arm, kissing him desperately. Tears ran down her
face as she trembled against him. Despite everything, she
couldn't hate him. He was her first love, her one true love, and
her everything. She knew deep down that Vegeta would never marry
her; they had a very passionate relationship but he had a
commitment to Bulma; she was the mother of his two children. Ami
gave him a daughter, but it was a very sensitive subject.

Michelle laughed at his question about his food and turned onto
her side curling up. She watched him dote upon her and smiled.
In response to him, she shrugged and closed her eyes. "The kids
need to be picked up from their after school function soon." she
spoke quietly, grabbing for the remote and starting to flip
through the channels.
Heero stopped short and was hurled around with a kiss in which
he returned tenfold. His arms wrapped around her waist and
pulled her tightly into him. He thought about the scene he'd
encountered months back with Vegeta and Ami together and
demonically smirked behind his kiss. His thoughts went to
thinking how he could give back to Vegeta, what Vegeta had done
to him back then. He quickly erased the thought from his mind
though and slowly pulled away from Ami. There was a bit of hurt
in his eyes as he looked at her. "Where's my kids?" was all he
asked, his hands rested upon her hips.
