"Thank God, that movie is finally over..." Rei grumbled as she
jumped out of her seat and left the building alone. "Worst plot
ever..." She left the theater and started walking down the
sidewalk, only trying to figure out where she wanted to go next.
She found she had an entire day all to herself and was planning
on splurging her time with herself. Then again, maybe heading
into one of these clubs would be someone promising at least it
couldn't be any worse than that horrible movie.
She walked in a looked around. It wasn't quite time for business
to pick up. There were a lot of people in here but not really
that many that it was over crowded. She took a seat at the
nearby bar and ordered a drink. When it came she took it in hand
and spun in her chair, watching everything around her.

"Pretty quiet night in here..." a silky voice spoke from her
left. She turned in her chair a bit more and looked at him.
High cut golden brown hair, almost mystical hazel eyes. He must
have stood six feet, and was completely dressed in an Armani
suit. He was leaning on the bar top, his high cheek bones
lifting the curves of his cheeks into the perfect amount of
       round.
"It sure is." she spoke softly. "Better to be here than out
there doing nothing though." she chuckled lightly and took a sip
       of her drink.
"Yeah..." he looked down at his whiskey sour and stirred it,
then looked up at her out of the corner of his eye. He was
perfectly handsome, and he smelled of leather and musk. She
blushed as he met her eyes again and she bit her lip and turned
back to the main floor. "Do you always hang out in bars when
you're 'doing nothing'?" he asked, picking up his drink, and
taking a sip then setting it back to the counter. He then turned
with his back to the bar and leaned back on his elbows. Rei
turned her head back to him and shrugged. She noticed a
brilliant gold bracelet on his right wrist. No signs of a
wedding ring. She then looked up at him.
"Actually, this is the first time I've hung out in a bar without
       my friends."

"Where are your friends at tonight?" he asked, turning his head
       in her direction.
"They are all working tonight. I had some of my own free time
and decided not to sit at home alone." She laughed a little. "I
thought a good movie would make it fun but...I thought wrong."
She ducked her head down and ran her finger around the rim of
her glass. He stood up and reached for her glass, taking it from
       her hand.
"Would you like to dance?" he asked, placing her glass on the
bar and extending his hand. She watched him, and then looked at
his hand, then to his eyes. The light from the dim room twinkled
in his beautiful hazel eyes. She bit her lip a moment and hopped
down from her seat. She then put her hand in his and nodded.
"Sure." she responded, taking note that there was no one else in
       the bar that was dancing.
He grasped her hand in his, the size of his hand almost twice as
large as hers. He walked her to the middle of a small, empty
dance floor and put his hand on her waist, pulling her in close
to him. Her heart pounded in her chest and she moved into the
warmth of his large body. She swallowed hard and placed her hand
on his upper arm and laced her fingers through his on the
opposite hand. The music was already playing as he started to
slowly sway back and forth with her. That cologne that he wore
made her weak. She never smelled a man who smelled as sexy as he
       did.
As her thoughts ran away with her while they danced, he just
held onto her and kept with the rhythm of the music. It seemed
like hours flew by after that. They didn't speak a word, and
barely even looked at one another. It started to get awkward,
but then she would take a whiff of what he was wearing and she
was back at the start again. After some time, she relaxed with
him and laid her head on his chest. As soon as she did, he
cleared his throat and stepped away from her. She straightened
up and looked up at him. Her cheeks flushed and she pulled her
hands back to herself. "Sorry." she murmured, smiling and
excusing herself back to the bar.

The man stood, alone, in the middle of the floor for a moment.
She watched her walk back to her spot at the bar and take her
seat. He sighed and ran his hand over his hair and pinched the
bridge of his nose. He straightened and ran his hands down his
Armani suit, then headed back over to her.
"I'm sorry, you shouldn't be." He picked up his drink and leaned
against the bar on his elbows. "I haven't had a woman get that
close to me in a long time. It was just...well, it's been a long
time, we'll leave it at that."
She shook her head and waved her hand at him. "Please, it's
fine." She looked up at him and smiled, a fake smile, but a
smile nonetheless. "I should probably get going. I'm sure my cat
is probably getting rather hungry by now." She lied, but it was
her fair excuse to leave. The man's brows sank, frowning. As she
got up from her seat, he gently took her elbow.
"I'd like to see you again." he spoke softly, as she turned her
head in surprise and looked at him. She laughed from doubt and
continued out. "No seriously..." he told her, putting his glass
down quickly and going after her. He got in front of her,
stopping her completely. His look was genuine as he smiled and
pulled out a small business card from his inside jacket pocket.
"Name's Maxwell. Give me a call sometime." he smiled and handed
it to her. She was in awe as their eyes met and she found his
seriousness. She bit her lip again and nodded as she took his
       card.
"Okay." she agreed and ducked quickly to the side of him. He let
her go this time and watched her leave with a smile on his face.
As Rei left the bar, she took up the card and looked at it. CEO
of Chandler Industries was printed under the name 'Maxwell
Chandler'. "What?" she gasped again and really started gnawing
on her lip. She couldn't believe that a billionaire had just
danced with her in a crappy little bar and asked that they meet
again. She stopped about half a block away and turned back. "I
didn't tell him my name..." she whispered out loud. But as she
was about ready to go back and reintroduce herself, she watched
him step into a Mercedes and drive away in the opposite
direction. She sighed and slouched as she turned back and headed
       back to her apartment.

       -=One Week Later=-
"Rei!" a young woman called out as Rei was leaving the shop
where she worked. She turned around and smiled. "You forgot your
       phone."
"Thanks Liana." She nodded, taking the phone that was being
handed to her. She turned back and turned down the same sidewalk
she'd walked for the last six years, heading to her apartment.
She hit the 'home' button on her iPhone and checked through her
missed text messages. Only two. One from her best friend asking
her to go out tonight. Another from her mom saying they were
going on their vacation tomorrow and wanted her to stop by for
brunch before they left. As she closed out the app, she noticed
the alert on her voicemail. She opened it up and lifted the
       phone to her ear.
"This message is for Reiana Pierson. I'm Lucinda, calling from
Mr. Chandler's office. He is requesting your attention tonight
in the office at 6 p.m. He says you're welcome to decline but
he'd really like to meet with you..." the message continued with
a phone number and the location of his office, which she already
knew. But she was in awe at the message. She stopped in mid step
and pulled her phone away. 'How did he get my number?' she
wondered. 'And my name...' She tried to put it out of her mind
as she continued walking back to her apartment. She checked the
time. '5:19' Did she really wanna go?
As she got to her apartment, and unlocked the door, she stepped
inside and looked up at the time again. She bit her lip. '5:26'
She looked around her place and tapped her foot on the floor.
She stared at the floor a moment, and then turned around,
shutting the door. She put her phone and keys down on the table
next to the door and then headed straight for the bathroom to
       shower.

       ---------------------------------------------------------
When she stepped out of the shower, she wrapped the towel around
her torso and walked to the bedroom. She dressed in a pair of
khaki dress slacks and a hunter green silk blouse. She loved the
dark colors, they always helped accent her just barely tanned
skin. She looked at the clock on her bedside table. "Already
5:45..." she mumbled. "Wonder how long it would take me to get
there..." She pulled on some stockings and grabbed for a pair of
gold colored slip on shoes. She grabbed a brush and picked up
her purse and phone then bolted out the door. She ran down the
stairs quickly to the ground floor and burst through the lobby
door. "Taxi!" she called out, as two cabs drove by her. One kept
going even as she waved her arms around, but the other stopped
and quickly pulled to the side of the street. She huffed and ran
the thirty feet to it's stopping location. She yanked open the
       door and jumped in.
The ride there was nerve racking. She pulled her brush through
her wet, tangled hair and finally managed a simple ponytail. In
her purse, she pulled out a small bottle of perfume and spritzed
herself with it quickly. The cab pulled up in front of the large
Chandler Skyscraper and she paid the cabby and got out. As she
stepped onto the curb and looked up to the top of the building,
she swallowed and looked to her phone for the time. "5:56..."
she mumbled and started inside to the main lobby.
As she entered the large three story foyer, she was surrounded
on both side by eight steel door elevators set in stone gray
walls. Above her hung a massive crystal chandelier, lights
bouncing around between the hanging crystals. The whole place
was accented by marbled mirrors inlaid in the walls and a
beautiful white marble porcelain flooring. A reception desk sat
at the end of the room between both columns of elevators with a
smiling blonde behind the desk. She walked up and bit her lip a
moment. "I'm here to see Mr. Chandler." she told the woman. The
blonde raise her eye brow in doubt then pointed to a specific
       elevator to her right.
"Thirty-fifth floor..." Rei nodded and took to the specified
elevator. As she pushed the button and waited for the doors to
open, she pulled out her phone and text her friend back about
the evening's events. 'Will be late, but I will be there.' she
responded and sent the text. At that point, the elevator doors
opened up and she stepped inside.
Once inside, she turned to the button panel and stared at all
the buttons. The '35' button was missing though, but as she
looked a bit harder, she found a button at the very top of the
panel labeled 'MC'. She smirked and hit the button and as the
doors closed she caught the receptionists expression and laughed
gently at the baffled looked the woman had on her face. She
leaned back on the wall and rode the elevator up to the directed
       floor.

As she exited the elevator, she was stopped in her tracks by the
room on the other side of the doors. A tiny semi-circular room
dressed in chrome mirrored walls, and black marble tiled
flooring. A beautiful crystal chandelier hung in the center,
coming almost half way down the two story tall top floor of the
tower. The reception desk sat off the the right side of two
mahogany doors with gold plaques stating Maxwell's name and his
       CEO title to the company.
"You must be Reiana." the receptionist smiled and stood. "I'm
glad you came. Mr. Chandler will be happy to know." She pushed a
button on her phone without a word. "Please, he'll be out
shortly, take a seat." she smiled and picked up a small stack of
folders and headed into a small doorway behind her desk, the
       door closing behind her.
Rei sat there looking around the room, still in awe at it's
beauty. She turned in her seat, one of a row of chairs lining in
front of the row of windows looking out upon the city. She took
in the view and stood to her feet so she could see more. It felt
like flying, being up this high, and being able to see
       everything below.
"Beautiful isn't it?" a familiar voice sounded near her ear. She
jumped and turned around to see that smile of his.
"Hello Maxwell..." she smiled, bashfully, and looked back. "It
is very beautiful." He grinned back at her and turned, nodding
his head towards his office door.
"Come, I'll show you my office. "It's even better."
