The Faerie Realm
By: Havok Date: June 12, 2013, 4:57 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
In the Faerie realm, there are four courts, each filled with
Kings, Queens, Knights, and Ladies. As well as those who serve
their respective courts. All of Faerie is concealed from the
Mortal world, though there are various doors to which Faerie can
be accessed. Not all Faerie are good and mischeivious. There are
the Dark Faerie who only wish to hurt and are extremely
malevolent.
In the beginning, there were two Faeries. Sorcha (Order) is the
High Queen of Faerie. Her word is above all. She 'collects'
humans with extraordinary talents, like muses. She prefers the
arts the most, and will not settle until she gets what she
wants. Her very will keeps Faerie alive and if she's not happy,
the Faerie realm will cease to exist. Bananach (Discord) is
Sorcha's twin, and the pure embodiment of war. Thriving on blood
and chaos, Bananach wants nothing more to destroy. She haunts
the fields of battle and wants nothing more than more blood
spilled in her name.
Summer Court
Summer Court is ruled by the Erlking, King Oberon, and Queen
Titania. Though they rule together, King Oberon often grows
tired (or rather annoyed) by his wife and tends to seek out
mortal women to ease his loins. Of course this angers the Queen
who will usually find a way to get rid of the child and mother.
The Summer Court, also known as the Seelie Court, is more
benevolent towards humans. The faerie of this court are known to
seek out humans, to warn those who had accidentally offended
them in one manner or another, and to return human kindness with
favors of their own. Fae don't like to be in debt. Even so, a
faery belonging to this court will most definitely avenge
insults and and are prone to much mischief. his court are
generally polite and bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. These fae are
more apt to lure humans in with sweet dew. They also have
blossoming curiosity. The Summer Court fae are peppy, quiet,
seductive, emotional, and vernal obviously. The fae of this
this court are generally considered more polite or mannered,
albeit they are still very capable of cruelty (but will be more
hush-hush, or subtle about it). The Summer Court has free reign
over summer solstice and spring equinox months, and are
strongest during that time. Needless to say, the fae of this
court are frivolous, venereal, hot-headed and what have you.
They are the epitome of summer.

They are
associated with the growth of Life, and the comfort of fire.
Many can promote and control plant growth, wield fire with ease,
and heal living beings. These faeries live in the Summer Realm
known as Arcadia.
Winter Court
The Winter Court is ruled by Queen Maub, and is also known as
the Unseelie Court. They are the "Unholy" or "Unblessed" Court
consisting of the malicious and more evilly-inclined fairies.
Unlike the Seelie Court, offense is not necessary to bring down
their foes or anyone they choose to bother for that matter. Like
the fairies of the Seelie Court, neither are the faries of the
Unseelie court always evil. However, when one of them are forced
to choose, they will naturally prefer to harm than help. The
Winter Court typically represents what people see as the
malevolent side of the Fae. The fae of this court seemingly
frown upon humans. They're more inclined to talk about their ope
cruelty. This makes them look none other than evil, however one
chooses to define evil. The Winter Court has free reign over
winter solstice and autumn equinox months, and are strongest
during that time. By and by, the fae of this court are sensible,
chilled, dark, baleful, and what have you. As well as being
associated with the season of Winter, they are known for the
death of Life, and the chill of frost. They tend to be more bold
then those of the Seelie, and less emotional as well. Their
powers are strongest at night and of course, during the Winter.
Winter Court resides in Tir Na Nog.
Dark Court
The Dark Court is ruled by the Dark King, who is ever changing.
Chosen from the Solitary fae to lead them, the Dark Court left
Faerie to live among humans. It is the court of the darker
emotions and realities; the court of temptation. Dark Court
faeries feed off what the Dark King calls the "finer" emotions
in other faeries: pain, fear, lust, jealousy and rage. As such,
the Dark Court thrives during periods of turmoil among the
faeries and weakens during periods of peace. They reside in the
Mortal realm amongst the humans.
Iron Court
The final Court was a bi-product of man's creations and lust for
technology. The Iron Court. Faerie fused with human technology
that somehow does not harm them compose this court. A
combination of faeries from other courts, they follow the Iron
King. Nothing grows here: there are wastelands of twisted metal
and scraps, as well as the plantlife that fused with the
technology to create woods of steel, iron, and glowing lights.
This realm is called Mag Tuiredh.
THE MOST IMPORTANT RULES:
Rule #1: Don't ever attract their attention.
Rule #2: Don't speak to invisible faeries.
Rule #3: Don't stare at invisible faeries.
Dealing with faeries:
If you know what they are, it's a lot easier to keep safe. When
in doubt, go into areas with as much steel as possible. Steel,
being based in iron, is dangerous to them. Only the strongest of
faeries can withstand it.
If you see a faery who can withstand it, review the Most
Important Rules. Get away as quickly as you can while doing your
best not to attract even the slightest attention from them.
If you cannot get away, remember the basics:
-Don't run. They like to chase.
-Don't eat or drink with faeries. Once you taste their food,
nothing else will ever satisfy you.
-Don't linger to listen to their music. Months will pass as you
wither away, too entranced to leave. (Dancing with them is also
a bad idea--as are kissing, embracing, or anything that might
follow such activities. Like the taste of their food or the
sound of their songs, their touch can entrap a mortal.)
-Don't make a vow to a faery. If, however, a faery offers you a
vow, it is as law to them (as are yours to them). Make sure
there are witnesses.
-Don't make bargains with them. They wouldn't offer unless the
bargain is in their favor. Avoid deals. They have the
experience; you don't. No, really, this rarely goes well.
-Do remember what has happened to mortals who saw them: blinding
or worse.
-Do wear steel & iron on your person.
-Do remember that they are everywhere. Speaking openly about
them is most unwise.
-Do read folklore and myths. They might not all be accurate,
but they are our best sources of truth.
