Next Generation of fly anglers

I would like to welcome one of the next generation of fly
anglers, little Jacob. Weighed 9lb 7oz and was 21 3/4 inches
long.
Mom and baby are doing fine.

Congrats. I have a granddaughter who will be a year old in a
couple of weeks. We've already decided she's getting her snoopy
pole next year. When is a good time for a fly rod? 4? 5?

As soon as Tyler, our first, can proficiently cast a normal rod
and reel then I'll start teaching him to cast a fly rod,
