Streamer Rod
By: teeford Date: August 4, 2020, 1:25 pm

I am looking for a rod to throw fairly large streamers, such as
Game Changers, Dungeons, as well as smaller ones like Woolly
Buggers and Slumpbusters. Any suggestions as to brand and
series? Also, 6 wt or 7 wt? Thanks.

teeford , I have the TFO Clouser series rods in both a 6wt. and
a 9 wt. It might just be that they fit my casting stroke better
but I would highly recommend the Clouser series for streamer
fishing . I use the 9wt. strictly for open water saltwater
fishing , but the 6 is my favorite for speckled trout . I also
brought it with me a couple of months ago up to the White River
in Arkansas and landed a 23" brown trout on a streamer. If you
are going to be fishing in the marsh where it can get a little
windy or for bass/ redfish go with the 7wt . Good luck !

Thanks for the information. I eventually went with a Sage Sonic
6-weight.
