Why is your character qualified for this job? I have a bachelors
degree in religious studies from Bodwyn College and a masters in
Philosophy from Columbia University. My education should give me
insight into the lives of teens. I am also young enough to still
vividly remember my teenage years.
Please describe your character: Albina has had enough! She is
sick of academia. She is sick of the low grade, sniping politics
and let's face it, the sexism in her department. She is sick of
the fact there would be no job prospects for her anyway. Her
masters degree is something her department gave her so they
could cover the fact that they wanted rid of her. It leaves her
in good standing to finish her PhD elsewhere but she doesn't
want to.
Albina stands 5'3" but looks shorter. She is Caucasian with an
oval face framed by center parted, shoulder length, lank, mouse
brown hair. She has plenty of padding on her soft body, though
she is by no means fat or even overweight. Her shoulders are
round. Her breasts are round. She dresses indifferently. Her
face is pale from time spent mostly indoors. She blinks her
small, brown eyes like one rare let into the sun.
What are your character's strengths? Albina is well educated.
This is helpful for highschool students who are beginning their
own educational journeys. High school was a time long before
Albina's own education led her to a dead end. They inspire
nostalgia in her and energize her.
What are your character's weaknesses? Albina has lived like an
academic mole most of her life. She probably lacks a lot of
empathy or sympathy for rowdier teens.
Do you realize the hours are grueling, the pay is low, but you
get free room and board? How do you plan to deal with that?
Albina replies "Do you realize what the academic job market
would have been like had I finished my PhD. This job is way
better than being an adjunct professor."
Back Story: Albina's family is not pleased that their
twenty-something daughter is drifting. Her boyfriend, with whom
she broke up, shares this view. They all want to get her on
track, and think this job at Kotiah-Yovanovitch is drifting and
a waste of time.
