Galaxy 73 HML Channel Expansion Modification
1. Remove bottom cover.
2. On the left side of the radio (Front panel facing you) there
will be a frequency counter (a tin-plated metal box).
3. Remove the screw that holds this box to the chassis and move
the frequency counter to one side.
4. Located on the channel selector board you will see a small
red jumper wire.
5. Remove it, being sure not to over-heat the surface mount
components.
6. Lying nearby is a plug that is not plugged into anything.
7. Plug it in to the empty socket on the channel selector board.
8. Also lying nearby is a yellow wire and a brown wire, each cut
into separate pieces and each covered with heat shrink on their
ends.
9. Solder the two yellow wires together and the two brown wires
together.
10. Use black electrical tape first to cover them and then cover
the taped connections with heat shrink tubing.
11. Re-mount the frequency counter to the chassis and the unit
will now function on the cb band.
