       What is nuclear chemistry?

       Nuclear chemistry studies the nuclear reactions taking place in
       the nucleus of atoms. These reactions involve changes in the
       composition of nuclei and release of tremendous amount of
       energy. Nuclear reactions are different from chemical reactions
       because they involve changes taking place in the nuclei of
       atoms, not the electrons as is observed in ordinary chemical
       reactions. Transmutations are a common feature in nuclear
       chemistry but itdosent occur in ordinary chemicalreactions.
       Natural radioactivity is the process of spontaneous
       disintegration of nucleus to produce particles and rays and new
       elements. Artificial radioactivity however involves theinducing
       of radioactivity by bombarding the nucleus with energetic
       sub-atomic particles, usually protons and neutrons
