       how would you prepare allyl alcohol starting from  glycerol?

       Use KHSO4 to convert glycerol to acrolein, CH2=CH-CHO. Then
       treat it with reducing agents like LiAlH4,NaBH4 or maybe
       Acetone/Aluminium isopropoxide (MPV) etc.
