What could be the solvent?, what is the compound?

an alkyl halide reacts with silver nitrate in a solvent to give
diethyl ether and a white ppt. identify the compound and the
solvent. this question is worth +2

Not very sure, but gonna give it a try...

Looks like the solvent might be EtOH; then AgNO3 reacts with
Et-Cl to give CH3CH2+, which gets attacked by EtOH to give
EtOEt.
So the compound might be CH3CH2Cl, and the solvent ethanol...
