when compound A, C4H4O4 is heated with acetic anhydride, it
gives B, C4H4O3. Compound B reacts with ammonia to produce C,
C4H12O4N2. When compound C is heated up to 300°C, it forms D,
C4H5O2N. Now, both B and C can be hydrolysed to A. Identify
A,B,C and D

I guess the formula of A will be C4H6O4. If that is the case,
then here's a solution:
A is HOOC-CH2-CH2-COOH, ie succinic acid. Then it reacts with
acetic anhydride upon heating to form succinic anhydride (B).

these are all normal reactions of dicarboxylic acids.
