       Its affinity towards water. As far as I know, it is the best
       desiccant. It reacts with water very violently and produces
       phosphoric acid. It absorbs every bit of water from other
       chemicals and make them completely dry. For example, it reacts
       with sulfuric acid & Nitric acid and produces their anhydrides -
       Sulfur trioxide (SO3) and Nitrogen pentoxide (N2O5)
       respectively. You need to have fume hood to store and handle
       phosphorus pentoxide. Wearing breather is inevitable in case if
       you do not have fume hood.
