       Hi
I need to have a soft stearic acid in the solid state.I mean
Could I melt the stearic acid and add an additive in to it and
then let cool down and then have a stearic acid with solid phase
       and also lower hardness.
Could you please help me how could I do it?
       Thanks

Check out lower fatty acid which is liquid at ambient
temperature and fix up the ratio to get the same

       thanks dear sahilk
Stearic acid is an unsaturated acid. would I mix it with a
       saturated acid or unsaturated acid?
which acid do you recommend me to use?
what about adding glycerine in to it?

Use a saturated acid, because stearic acid itself is saturated.
I'm a bit unsure about adding glycerine. Glycerine will convert
some of the stearic acid to glyceryl tristereate, (of course
just a little quantity of the stearic acid will be converted to
glyceryl tristereate at room temperature. More glyceryl
tristereate will be formed if you heat the mix, and it will also
convert a little quantity of the fatty acid to the glyceryl
ester of the acid) How helpful would that be? May I ask why
       you're considering adding glycerine?

I want have a low wear resistance one. So I read somewhere that
mixture of paraffin and glycerine have low wear resistance. so I
think it will work for srearic acid too. I test it before and
when you mixing it you can see the bubbles. it show some
       reaction is happening.
I am test Oleic acid with stearic acid but it is very fatty. I
       need low fatty material too.
the mixture of oleic acid and stearic acid have low hardness.
Dear Dex for which application do you need it?

       hi
I need it for a binder.
what is the reaction between stearic acid and iron oxalate? I
tested some iron oxalate with stearic acid in elevated
temprature and I think they react , do you know any thing about
       it?

I do not expect any reaction between stearic acid and iron
oxalate. Their mixture will be more miscible at higher
temperatures, but as far as I know, there's no feasible reaction

But I mixed it at elevated temperature and then I had a more
brittle material and also it does not smell like stearic acid
any more.and also it`s melting point change from 54 (stearic
acid) to 83 centigrade (atearic acid + iron oxalate) and also
when I break it down I could see some bubbles so I thinks they
       can had a reaction, perhaps.
stearic acid can react with CaCO3, what is the result material?
       Thanks
