Entropy

Hi there...
I need some clarification on the concept of entropy..A textbook
i read describes it as how much energy is dispersed in a system.
A spontaneous process results in an increase in the entropy of
a system and the surroundings, meaning that energy is dispersed
between the system and its surroundings?...Okay, another
definition is that entropy can be regarded as the degree of
randomness/disoder of the molecules in a system. How do these
two definitions correlate? Suppose we have a beaker of water,
and we heat it up, it's increase in temperature is not
spontaneous, but the entropy of the system increases. How??!

Increasing temperature→the KE of the molecules
increases→they move faster→the disorder is
greater→entropy increases.

thanks i understand this, but then temperature increasing is
not spontaneous yet it increases the entropy of the system. How?

The definition: "A spontaneous process results in an increase
in the entropy of a system and the surroundings, meaning that
energy is dispersed between the system and its surroundings" is
wrong, because a process can be spontaneous even if the entropy
