       Chemical riddle
   DIR By: Michel

       ---------------------------------------------------------
       Found this interesting riddle
Cid was working near the acid vats one day when he noticed some
aluminum on the floor that was quite corroded from some of the
acid that had spilled on it. Cid then made his way to the top of
the vat to inspect some equipment. The plant manager was
conducting a tour and happened to be coming by the vats just
then. He pointed to the warning signs on the vats that read
"caution: corrosive" and went to move on, but as luck would have
it Cid recognized someone in the tour group and leaning over the
railing to wave, slipped and plunged into the vat. The crowd
gasped sure that the Cid would be instantly dissolved by the
acid. Another worker rushed over and pulled Cid out. Cid, none
the worse except for being rather embarrassed and very soggy
yelled down "I'm ok". The plant manager remarked that wasn't
part of the tour and asked people to move on. Cid wasn't wearing
any protective clothing or had any special protection form the
       acid when he fell in.
       So why was he unharmed?

A question: Is it an Organic acid or Inorganic one? haha

       Thanks:)
       hahaha...good one there..practically solves it :D
       remember 'corrosive'
Okay, which acid do you think it might be...

Well, Aluminium reacts with hydrochloric acid rapidly. But, you
said in your riddle, the man came out without much of a problem
when not even wearing any protections. So, it can't be. Next
comes to my mind is phosphoric acid which corrodes Aluminium
slowly. But, you said, it is very much corroded. Also,
phosphoric acid is not so weak. I can't think any acid which
corrodes Aluminium so rapidly like hydrochloric acid. Acetic
acid and Oxalic acid do not react rapidly even with Magnesium
lol. mmmmhhh... well, me still thinking.

well, I didn't say anything about the rate of corossion. Only
       that the Al was corroded:)
       Short answer:
Cid works at a pickling factory and fell into a vat of acetic
acid or vinegar. Vinegar will corrode aluminum and other metals
but has little effect on skin

I do not think acetic acid attacks Aluminium Mich even it is in
concentrated form. That's why I did not put that part in my
       video.
Here you go. Metals with concentrated acetic acid:

Also, I've just noticed this in wiki:
       Reactions with inorganic compounds
Acetic acid is mildly corrosive to metals including iron,
magnesium, and zinc, forming hydrogen gas and salts called
       acetates:
       Mg + 2 CH3COOH → (CH3COO)2Mg + H2
Because aluminium forms a passivating acid-resistant film of
aluminium oxide, aluminium tanks are used to transport acetic
       acid.

Yep, some online articles are fake.
