Suppose you used conc H2S04 on the NaNO3...

Nope, I used dilute acid in both cases. Even if we use
concentrated sulfuric acid, nitrates will not liberate nitrogen
dioxide especially if they are dissolved in water. But nitrites
do no matter if they are in solution or in dry form.

What was the conc. of H2O2 used?

Hmm...30% is quite concentrated...just wondering...have you
handled higher concentrations of H2O2?

yes hehe. Many times. Sometimes even without gloves like in the
video. Actually, we should not. I did as it is an old stock. Me
thought of even buying 50% but dropped that idea as it would
make the reaction quite aggressive. Also, some reactions would
go uncontrollable if 50% is not properly used. Bit risky. But,
me convenient with 30% and would like to go with it for now :-)

Yes, exactly my thinking, the 50% solution will be quite
dangerous, especially if stored for a long time without usage.
O2 may build up in the vessel and probably if any spark source
is lying around could lead to uncontrollable fires...

Yep, for that reason, me did not buy Formic acid and Carbon
disulfide. Pressure build up in the containers always a big
headache with some chemicals. Especially with flammable ones.

Really, I never knew CS2 has that property...does it decompose?
Or why is there a 'build up'
