What is the product formed from the reaction of
1-bromo-2-methylpropane with Lithium in ether, followed by
propanone and acid hydrolysis?

I dunno if it will proceed the same way as grignard, but here's
a shot.
Br-CH2CH(CH3)CH3 + Li/ether --> BrLi-CH2CH(CH3)CH3
BrLi-CH2CH(CH3)CH3+CH3COCH3 + H3O+-->
Li(Br)(OH)+(CH3)2C(OH)-CH2CH(CH3)CH3.
I dunno if the covalent character of the Li-C bond will affect
anything; after all, it's an organometallic compound...
