       Thanks for pointing that out. The rout seems complex to me ???,
       so I will stick with the odor then.
       Concerning Mn(OH)2, in one book I found that it is brown, in
       another that it is white and in the attached picture it is
       yellow. What is happening here  ????

       Aluminium sulfide is slightly grey in color but almost appears
       colorless. I never seen Ferric sulfide though. Both are unstable
       anyway.

       Okay, didn't know this. What would happen if I added sodium
       sulfide to a solution containing Fe3+ ions? Will anything happen
       at all?

       Of course, Ferric sulfide is formed. But, it slowly decomposes
       into Ferrous sulfide and sulfur at room temperature.
