I thought the same Michel. But surprisingly, both sulfates give
white precipitate with Ethanol. So, me reading about Ethyl
sulfates. Let's see.

Certainly not an alkylsulfate. They don't come that easy. It's
even difficult to 'imagine' that happening

Certainly precipitation of these metal sulfates. The presence of
EtOH in the saturated solutions of these sulfates reduces
solvation of ions by H2O molecules, causing precipitation.
Try experimenting with chlorides?

I strongly think so; you could repeat the experiment with a
metal sulfate, collect the precipitate formed, dry it, check if
it's soluble in water.
If it's soluble, test for sulfate ion and the metal ion
