       Major acids

       Among three major acids, hydrochloric, sulfuric and nitric,
       which one you use it often and why? and which one use rarely and
       is there a particular reason for it? This is an interesting
       question. Because, your answer will tell how you see the
       chemistry and how much you understood it.

       Sulfuric is by far the most useful for me

       H2SO4...best for acidifying reagents, not easily oxidized, most
       important acid :D

       i use Hydrochloric acid the most.as it is usually useful for
       many reactions that is to be conducted by my students in
       highschool. Nitric acid is rarely used.

       Well, expected answers so far hehe. Undoubtedly, sulfuric acid
       is one of the most useful chemicals. Hence, we called it as
       "King of Chemicals" As it is one of the very strong acids, it
       does react with compounds of acids which are weaker than
       sulfuric acid and displace them from their salts. Hence, it is
       very useful in preparing other acids. Not only this, there are
       tonnes and tonnes of uses by sulfuric acid. The remaining 2
       counterparts, hydrochloric acid and nitric are also extremely
       useful. But, all these three acids have some unique properties
       and also have some similar properties among them. I’ve listed
       such properties below (in a table) so that you can understand
       which one we are using mostly at lab and why.

       Of course, we do not use Nitric acid much because of the above
       properties and it is not used for detecting ions much. But, it
       is a very very important acid used in Industries and have tonnes
       and tonnes of uses like manufacturing fertilizers, explosives
       etc…
       Both hydrochloric and sulfuric acid are almost used equally in
       labs. Both are very useful in detecting ions. But, when comes to
       preparing gases such as hydrogen, carbondioxide etc.. we mostly
       go with hydrochloric acid as it is a cheap acid and also does
       not precipitate salts with some alkaline earths unlike sulfuric
       acid and also it is not very corrosive like sulfuric acid. It is
       something like we using Sodium hydroxide very often than
       potassium hydroxide even though they two have almost similar
       properties. We just prefer NAOH over KOH since it is cheap and
       less corrosive than KOH.
