From the question, X burns in excess Oxygen, meaning all of X
was consumed in the reaction.
0.112dm3 of X produces 0.88g CO2
First, find the amount of X, in moles and the amount of CO2 in
moles.

according to me here are 5*10 raise to power -3 moles of X and
2*10 raise to power -2 moles of CO2 and I am trying to proceed

That's correct.
btw, you can type, eg 5*10^-3 for the indices, or 5*10-3. You do
this by clicking the sup button and typing the -3 in between the
Back to the question;
Now we know that 5*10^-3 moles of X produces 10^-2 moles of
CO2.
By simple proportion, if 5*10^-3 mole of X produces 10^-2 mole
of CO2, How many mole of CO2 will be produced by 1 mole of X?
Your answer will be the number of C atoms in 1 molecule of X.
