what does the term viscous mean?????

Just a quick overview...
Viscocity is the resistance to flow that is exhibited by all
fluids. It is caused by internal friction due to sliding of one
fluid layer on the other. For instance, if a liquid flows along
a tube, two adjacent layers of the liquid will have different
velocities due to the viscous force between them. Hence a more
viscous liquid flows slowly and vice versa. You can attempt
measuring viscocity by measuring the time taken for a given
quantity of a liquid to flow through a capillary tube.
