Problem of the week-20/8/12

This one is very easy :)
5.00g of a colorless liquid, A hydrolyses strongly with excess
water producing 1.24g of a white Oxide, B and a strongly acidic
solution, C.
A + 2H2O→ B + 4C
When A is reacted with oxygen, a white oxide, B and a gas D are
produced.
Reduction of gas D with hydrogen produces the anhydride of
solution C.
Find A, B, C and D

I think A is CaH or CaC2

Good guesses here :)
Both CaH2 and CaC2 produce white precipitates and evolve gases
upon reaction with water, but the gases evolved arent acidic...
