       Problem of the week-20/8/12
   DIR By: Michel

This one is very easy :)
5.00g of a colorless liquid, A hydrolyses strongly with excess
water producing 1.24g of a white Oxide, B and a strongly acidic
       solution, C.
       A + 2H2O→ B + 4C
When A is reacted with oxygen, a white oxide, B and a gas D are
       produced.
Reduction of gas D with hydrogen produces the anhydride of
       solution C.
       Find A, B, C and D

       Any takers?
This one is very simple ;)

Hint: A is a binary compound

Come on! This should bring some compounds to mind

       I think A is CaH or CaC2

       Good guesses here :)
Both CaH2 and CaC2 produce white precipitates and evolve gases
upon reaction with water, but the gases evolved arent acidic...
