I'm guessing X is Iron Carbonate? Or a mixture of Iron carbide
and Iron carbonate?

X is not a mixture, It's a compound (see the OP). Your guesses
aren't correct.

I'm thinking X could be an organometallic compound..not so sure
what it might be :-(

Dear, the equation is not equalized, in ur first reactione the
reactant has 3 c atoms in 3FeCO5,bt the output has 6 c atoms,in
3FeCO4Cl2 nd 3CO,how?
