Large amounts Hydrogen can be produced by electrolysis of brine
(aq.NaCl)
The reaction at the cathode produces hydrogen.
2H2O--->H2 +2OH-
Electrolytic processes are usually very expensive, especially
when it involves large quantities
How much volume of H2 do you need? Is it for industry or
laboratory use?
Other cheap methods involve reaction of metals with acids (but
this is just for small quantities of H2 for laboratory use)

We can get H2 gas by reacting acids with metals whose reducing
power is higher than H atom.
Metal+acid---->salt+ H2
