My theory is that when you lose a life, Mario go back in time.
Cause Mario is so cool to die forever. He's a cheater!
That's why the Goombas appear again.

If only bowser was just a little smarter... why does he not hit
the button himself to drop mario in the lava at the boss battle?

He was smart enough to make 8 children to do his dirty work for
him, one of them being the malicious BOWSER JR. Granted, he has
crazy ways of defeating Mario and the gang in many ways, Mecha
Bowser, Clown Copper, Airship full of baddies and traps, And
even a clone copy of Mario himself!

But why he kidnap Peach and never kill her, if he wants to...
Well, what he wants, exactly? My guess is that he wants to rule
Mushroom Kingdom, that's why I never understand why he don't
kill Peach and start his reign. Or maybe he needs her as a
source of power, since that she's one of the seven Star
Children. I'm entering on the fan fiction sphere with these
assumptions, I know that it can't happen on the game.
Bowser have big plans to stop Mario, but seems like he always
forget about his goal. May, he just want to face Mario until the
day that he kills him, that's another explanation...

Bowser needs to be able to kill Mario, and what better way than
to capture Princess Peach. Mario tries to save her, and then
Bowser destroys him. With Mario out of the way, Bowser can do
whatever with the princess, and thus presume his goal of
capturing the Mushroom Kingdom.

But that's the hard way! May he likes to play with Mario, I
don't know. He could kill Peach first, take the Kingdom and all
the military force, and easily kill Mario. Hopefully.

I'd think a second and say, bowser could kill the princess and
the kingdom would still be running properly. There would be a
toad duke (Toadsworth) who would command an army of toads and
destroy bowser once and for all. Hell take me if Jr. ressurects
him again just like in NSMB DS with Black Magic. They could even
revive the princess with a 1-up for all I know.

Not quite....

If Bowser can successfully invade the Mushroom Kingdom then he
could control all 1-ups making it impossible for the Mushroom
Kingdom to revive useful people such as mario and thus Bowser
would rule the Nintendo world.
