Now think of Mario's life story. Same there, so you guys decide.
Kill a tiny little Goomba, with millions of others out there, or
have Mario die, the only one (besides Luigi) who cares enough to
save the princess.

But that's all Princess Peach fault! Why she never tries to
create a peace agreement with the Goomba and Koopa societies?
They're like a marginal people of Mushroom Kingdom. She don't
deserves help. =(
Oh yes, I forgot. Probably they live under Bowser's
ditactorship. Then, Mario should kill Bowser for real, and free
them all!

I do find stomping on Goombas very enjoyable.

Well, if you think about it, do they ever really die?
Every time you restart the same level, there's always more
Goombas. They can't reproduce THAT quickly. When Mario "kills"
them, they flatten out, but how do we know that they're really
dead? For all we know, they just pop back up like gelatin twenty
minutes later. I mean, look at them. They're mushrooms. Go
outside and step on a huge mushroom. It'll flatten out and just
pop right back up again sooner or later.
There's my theory.
