I see that karma has been added to the forums.

It reminds me of a site I dislike which had a reputation system
which was similar to this.
I really think that the amount of people who dislike and/or like
us should be irrelevant and not kept public, that's just me
though.

I was gonna say this...
I highly disagree with you on this though i like that you have a
rep because it shows people if you can be trusted or not...

Being liked or disliked has nothing to do with trust though,
people can be highly disliked and still very trustworthy.

Was just about to make an update post on this.
Only the moderators will be able to add/subtract karma from you.
Other users cannot.

Reputation, mainly. If a person is seen spamming or crap-posting
regularly, we'll downvote them. If we see them being active,
engaged, and contributing valuable feedback to the community,
we'll give them an upvote.

I actually like the sound of this feature, since I'd presume it
would be used responsibly. It would be unethical though to
downvote a user if the mod just doesn't like he or she. On a
site which I played on for 2 years, they used to have a good
warning point system, if you broke a rule, you got +1 points, if
you broke another, it added up, and if you got to 10 points, you
were banned for a given amount of time. It really did work.
