       TEACHINGS OF THE PROPHET AS GUIDANCE
       DON'T MISS THIS PLEASE_.
       Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem.
       The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, sent
       Mu’adh ibn Jabal may Allah be pleased with him to Yemen and
       before he left after the instructions the Prophet gave as
       discussed in the earlier reminders today, the Prophet in trying
       to enquire if Mu’adh has listened to his instructions well ask
       him;
       كَيْفَ
       تَقْضِي
       How will you judge?
       Mu’adh said, “I will judge according to what is in the Book of
       Allah.” The Prophet said:
       فَإِنْ
       لَمْ
       يَكُنْ فِي
       كِتَابِ
       اللَّهِ
       What if it is not in the Book of Allah?
       Mu’adh said, “Then I will judge with the tradition (sunnah) of
       the Messenger of Allah.” The Prophet said:
       فَإِنْ
       لَمْ
       يَكُنْ فِي
       سُنَّةِ
       رَسُولِ
       اللَّهِ
       What if it is not in the tradition of the Messenger of Allah?
       Mu’adh said, “Then I will strive to form an opinion (ijtihad).”
       The Prophet said:
       الْحَمْدُ
       لِلَّهِ
       الَّذِي
       وَفَّقَ
       رَسُولَ
       رَسُولِ
       اللَّهِ
       All praise is due to Allah who has made suitable the messenger
       of the Messenger of Allah. Sunan At-Tirmidhi 1327 and other
       authentic sources.
       This narration demonstrates the proper procedure for applying
       Islamic guidance that would eventually develop into the
       discipline of the principles of Islamic jurisprudence (usuul
       al-fiqh).
       First, Muslim scholars should judge according to the explicit
       texts of the Quran and Sunnah and the consensus of the
       companions. If a clear answer is not found in these texts, then
       the scholars should apply rational principles such as analogy
       (qiyas), equity (istihsan), public interest (maslahah mursalah),
       and consideration of custom (‘urf). The use of these rational
       principles is called the practice of independent legal reasoning
       (ijtihad).
       Scholars would later extract the purposes and objectives of
       Islamic law as a guiding philosophy when applying rational
       principles to new situations, a discipline known as the
       objectives of the Law (maqasid ash-sharia). These objectives
       include the protection of life, religion, property, family, and
       intellect, as well as the pursuit of mercy, justice, and
       welfare.
       Finally, the last advice the Prophet gave to Mu’adh was to
       behave with good character, as it is the character of a Muslim
       which can most strongly impart a good impression of Islam to
       those being called.
       These are some of the lessons we learn from the journey of
       Mu’adh ibn Jabal to Yemen. Likewise, we should apply this
       guidance when calling others to Islam in our time. The Prophet
       tought his companions all they need to succeed before he left
       them. If we want to succeed we must learn the lessons from his
       teachings on various matters. That's what the Prophet said his
       way, that's Quran and Sunnah and also the sunnah of his rightly
       guided companions starting from His Excellency Abubakar, His
       Excellency Umar, His Excellency Uthman, His Excellency Ali etc
       may Allah be pleased with them. So Whosoever aims to learn from
       the Quran, the sunnah from these Imams till the 3rd generation
       after the Prophet will be guided by Alláh in shaa Allah but
       whoever tries to bring divisions, hatred, trying to find fault
       with any of the companions of the Prophet is indeed lost from
       satanic influences bcs Allah is please with them not you not me
       and not our forefathers. If you want to find the fault of
       anyone, find the errors of yourself, your parents and your
       grandparents and make dua for them for Allah's forgiveness not
       the companions of the Prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam.
       May Allah keep guiding us all and increases us in beneficial
       knowledge.Aameen.
