       A COIN KING

       ---------------------------------------------------------
       A COIN FOR A KING
A Sage was passing through the capital city of the famous king
of the time. While he was walking, he caught sight of a coin
lying on the road. He picked it up & since he was satisfied with
his simple living & he had no use of that coin he placed it in
his pocket with the intention of giving it to someone who really
       needed it.
He strolled around the streets throughout the day but didn’t
find any such person. Finally, he stopped at an area where he
could rest & spent the night there.
The next morning he is suddenly awakened by the sounds of an
army approaching. He follows the sounds & sees that ahead of
this army is the king most presumably going to battle for the
       invasion of another state.
Soon thereafter the king passed by the sage & on seeing him
standing there, he ordered his army to stop. He came to the Sage
& said, “Oh Great Sage, I am going to war to invade another
state so that my kingdom can be expanded. So bless me to be
       victorious”.
After some thought the Sage put his hand in his pocket & pulled
out the coin which he had earlier found & handed it over to the
       king.
Naturally, the king was enraged at what he considered was an
insult. What would a king who himself was rich do with a single
coin? After calming down he curiously asked the sage, “What’s
the meaning of this one coin?”
The sage explained, “Oh Great king! I found this coin yesterday
while strolling around the streets of ur capital city but I had
no use of it. So, I had decided that I will give it to someone
needy. I strolled around till the evening in ur capital, but
found no such person. Everyone was living a happy life. It
seemed that they were all satisfied with what they had. But
today, I have found that u are the most poor as u are not
satisfied with the kingdom u have & are prepared to sacrifice ur
life & the lives of these thousands to get more land. So I offer
the coin to u. U are more poverty- stricken than anyone".
Hanging his head in shame the king realized his greed &
immediately abandoned his mission. He ordered the army to turn
around & they all returned to the palace.

Just like the king in the story , we are also intent on
fulfilling our unending desires & expanding our 'kingdoms"...A
       bigger house...more money..a flashier car. Aиϑ what's
worse is when some of us acquire this wealth by cheating, lying,
violating others rights & resorting to borrowing money on
interest. The king in the story was on his way to fight a war to
acquire more. The one who borrows & buys on interest wages a war
       against the King of kings
       اللَّهُ Subhana wa
       Ta'ala. ( may اللَّهُ
       Subhana wa Ta'ala guide us).
The happiness & contentment we all search for will never be
found in things of this dunya.
       اللَّهُ Subhana wa
       Ta'ala tells us this Himself ;
"alaa bidhikrillaahi tat ma innal quloobi
       Verily in the REMEMBERANCE of
       اَللّهُ do hearts find
       contentment.
Let us not become living proof of the hadith where our
Rasulullah sallallaahu alayhi wasallam mentioned that:
If the son of Adam had money equal to a valley, then he will
wish for another similar to it, for nothing can fill (satisfy)
the eye of Adam’s son except dust ( death).
       (Saheeh Al-Bukhaari,)
       May اللَّهُ Subhana wa
Ta'ala keep us rightly guided & keep our hearts focused on our
       real destination- the Hereafter.
       امين يارب
       العالمين
