THE TRUTH BEHIND JOHN 14:6

Glory be to creator of all things, all praises and adorations
belong to him, we pray to him to guide those that have been
misled.
As we all know that those that called themselves Christians
[which Jesus never call them so] have a lot of misconceptions
about Jesus because Jesus said in Mat. 13:13 "The reason I talk
to them in parables is that they look without seeing and listen
without hearing or understanding". One the misconceptions which
they have is what Jesus said in John 14:6 "I am the way, the
truth and the life. No one comes to the father except through
me".
According to this verse it contains four key words
i. I am the way
ii. I am the truth
iii. I am the life
iv. No one comes to the father except through me.
We are going to explain the meaning of these words one by one,
after that we will now explain the whole verse.
I AM THE WAY
The way means the path or direction that can Iead someone to a
destination, Jesus said I AM THE WAY because he was the path or
direction that can make or lead people to eternal life for
example in Mark 12:29, Mat. 19:16-17, Luk. 18:17-19 when someone
came and asked Jesus about what can make him to gain eternal
life and Jesus told him, Jesus is the way because he preached
good news of God to children of Israel Mark 1:38-39, Mat. 9:35,
Jesus is the way because he saved his people from sins Mat.
1:21, in a nutshell Jesus is the way because he served as
guidance to his people (Israelites).
I AM THE TRUTH
Jesus is the truth because he spoke the word of God and the word
of God is the truth John 17:17, Jesus is the truth because he
testified to the truth John 18:37, Jesus is the truth because he
guides his people to the truth.
I AM THE LIFE
Jesus called himself life, can he give life? NO Because he said
he can nothing (powerless) John 5:30, can he give eternal life?
NO because Jesus rejected the request of a woman that ask him to
place his sons in heaven beside him but he said it for God only
in Mat. 20:20-23 & Mark 10:35-38 "Then the mother of Zebedee's
sons came with her sons to make a request of him, and bowed low;
and he said to her, 'What is it you want?' She said to him,
'Promise that these two sons of mine may sit one at your right
hand and the other at your left in your kingdom (heaven). Jesus
answered, 'You do not know what you are asking. Can you drink
the cup that I am going to drink?' They replied, 'We can.' He
said to them, 'Very well; you shall drink my cup, but as for
seats at my right hand and my left, these are not mine to grant;
they belong to those to whom they have been allotted by my
Father". The reason why Jesus called himself life is in John
12:49 “and I know that his commands mean eternal life. And
therefore what the Father has told me is what I speak”, Jesus is
the life because he speak the word of God and commandments which
he taught his people (Luke 18-19, Mat. 17:16-17, Mark 12:29)
leads to eternal life.
NO ONE COMES TO THE FATHER EXCEPT THROUGH ME
Jesus said this because he was the way to eternal life, and
there is no way anyone will know the word of God except through
him, no one will know the way to eternal life except through
him, he is the only one to guide people to gain eternal life.
Firstly we should all know that this claim is for Israelites
only because Jesus came only for the lost sheep of Israel Mat.

/>] and it is also for a certain period of time because Jesus sa

in John 9:5 "As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the
world"
And if we read the verse very well Jesus said “I am the way, the
truth, and the life” but Jesus didn't say “I am the ONLY way,
the truth and the life”, and when Jesus said “no one COMES to
the father except through me”, the word COMES is verb for
singular person and present tense.
As we all know that all prophets from God came to guide people
to eternal life, came to deliver the word of God to their
people.
The best question now is «In the time of Adam, Noah, Abraham to
the time of moses Who was the way, the life and the truth?»
The answer is that all the prophets of God are the light, the
way, the truth and life of the world during their period because
they all brought truth from God, so you must follow them to know
the way the light and the truth and have eternal life. But if
this clear explanation manifest to Christians they will say it
is only JESUS that made the claim to be the way, the truth and
the life, but another question to ask them is that «where did
anybody ask the earlier prophets to show them the way».
Answer now is in John 14:5 Thomas asked Jesus to show them the
way and Jesus answer them, but there is no place where they ask
earlier prophet such question.
Jesus said in John 9:5 “As long as I am in the world, I am the
light of the world", which means if Jesus is no more in the
world, he is not the light of the world, the question now is
«after Jesus is no more in the world, who is the light, the way,
the truth, the life?»
Our answer is also in Bible, Jesus made mentioned of a comforter
that will come after him in John 14,15 & 16, because the mission
of Jesus is incomplete if he didn't prophesize about him and the

/>], Muhammad is the last prophet from God Qur'an 33:40, which
means he the last way, the truth, the light and the life.
Muhammad is the way because it mentioned by God in Qur'an 36:3-4
“truly, you (o Muhammad) are one of the messengers, on a right
way” and he received command to proclaim it to others Q 93:11.
Muhammad is the truth because God confirmed it for him in Qur'an
11:17 “…Verily, it is the truth from your Lord…” also mentioned
in Q 39:41, Q 22:54. Muhammad is the life because whoever that
follow him will gain eternal life God also says in Qur'an 7:158
“….So believe in Allah and His Messenger, the Unlettered
Prophet, who believeth in Allah and His words: follow him that
(so) ye may be guided (to eternal life)."
Muhammad is the way, the truth, the light and the life to whole
mankind because he is the only prophet sent to the whole world Q
21:107, Q 34:26, all other prophets were only sent to their
people Q 30:41.
We Muslims make no distinction between them because all of them
came for a purpose, MANY PROPHETS ONE MESSAGE, God says in
Qur'an 42:13 “I (GOD) your creator has ordained for you of
religion (Islam- meaning total submission to God) the religion I
gave to Noah and the religion I gave to you, [O Muhammad], and
the religion I gave to Abraham and Moses and Jesus Christ and
all my prophets- to establish the religion and not be divided
therein. Difficult for those who associate others with Allah is
that to which you invite them. Allah chooses for Himself whom He
wills and guides to Himself whoever turns back [to Him].”
