SALAT THE PERFECT MODE OF WORSHIP

SALAT (THE PERFECT MODE OF WORSHIP)
Salat is the best act of worship that is performed by every true
believers of God. It entails adoring, praising, beseeching and
thanking him in position of standing, bowing, and prostrating
(placing one's face to the ground). But prostrating is the
most important part of it because Allah emphasis on prostration
(Sujuud) in Qur'an because Allah mentioned prostration (Sujuud)
in Qur'an not less than ninety times.
The similar translation for Salat is PRAYER but that is not the
best or appropriate translation because Prayer means act of
beseeching for help while Salat entails more than only
beseeching but Prayer is the nearest or similar meaning for
Salat in English.
It is so humorous and surprise when we see religions without
mode of worship when there are lot of evidences on how to
worship God in Qur'an and Bible. And some religions (like
Christianity) chose wrong way of worshipping God by dancing,
singing, beating drums, clapping of hands, whistling etc. Which
there is no where in the bible where God command men or prophet
of God worship in that way even it is mentioned in Quran 8:35
"and their prayers before the Temple are nothing but whistling
and clapping of hands. Taste then, [O unbelievers,] this
chastisement as an outcome of your persistent denial of the
truth!", moreover is not proper to be in front of God and now be
shouting claiming to be worshipping him because it is mentioned
in Habakkuk 2:20 "But God is in his holy Temple: let the whole
earth be silent before him."
Playing of music or song with musical instruments is totally bad
not to talk of using it to worship God bcus prophet Muhammad
(SAW) said "There are two sounds which God hate one is musical
instruments"
Worship or prayer (Salat) need concentration and truth as it is
explained by the prophet (saw) that while praying we should
concentrate because we are in front of God that we should
worship him as if we see him, even though we didn't see him but
he sees us and worship him with the truth, the same information
was given by Jesus in John 4:24 "God is spirit, and those who
worship must worship in spirit and truth."
HOW TO WORSHIP GOD
Allah the exalted says in Qur'an 51:56 "I have not created the
jinn and men except they should worship me"
He told us the way and how to worship him in Qur'an 53:62 "So
fall you down in prostration to Allah, and worship Him (Alone)."
And it is also mentioned in Qur'an 22:77 "O you who believe! Bow
down, and prostrate yourselves, and worship your Lord and do
good that you may be successful."
ALL PROPHETS WORSHIPPED GOD BY BOWING AND PROSTRATING
Allah narrated the story of Abraham as he said in Qur'an 14:40
"O my Lord! Make me one who performs As-Salat (keep up
prayer) and (also) from my offspring". It is also mentioned in
Qur'an 2:125 "And when We made the House a pilgrimage for men
and a (place of) security, and: Appoint for yourselves a place
of prayer (Salat) on the standing-place of Ibrahim. And We
enjoined Ibrahim and Ismail saying: Purify My House for those
who visit (it) and those who abide (in it) for devotion and
those who bow down (and) those who prostrate themselves"
And Bible make it known how Abraham perform salat in Genesis
17:3&17 "And Abram fell on his face and God talked with him"

Allah also commanded Moses and his followers also to perform
salat has an act of worship in Qur'an 5:12 "Indeed Allah took
the covenant from the Children of Israel (Jews), and We
appointed twelve leaders among them. And Allah said: "I am with
you if you perform As-Salat (keep up prayer)"
Bible also confirm it for us that Moses also worship God with
prostration in Exodus 34:8 "And Moses made haste, and bowed his
head toward the earth, and worshipped."
It is also mentioned that moses and Aron worshipped God in the
same way in Numbers 20:6 “And Moses and Aaron went from the
presence of the assembly unto the door of the tabernacle of the
congregation, and they fell upon their faces and the glory of
the LORD appeared unto them.”
Allah also commanded Mary (mother of Jesus) to perform salat in
Qur'an 3:43 "O Mary, be devoutly obedient to your Lord and
prostrate and bow with those who bow [in prayer]".
As the story of Jesus was narrated by God In Qur'an, Jesus also
said in Qur'an 19:31 "And He has made me blessed wherever I am
and has enjoined upon me salat (prayer) and zakah as long as I
remain alive" and he performed what he (Jesus) said in Mat 26:39
"And he (Jesus) went a little farther, and fell on his face, and
prayed." Likewise his desciples did so in Mat 17:6 "And when the
disciples heard it, they fell on their face"
Joshua also performed Salat (prayer) during his lifetime
according to Joshua 5:14 "And he said, Nay; but as captain of
the host of the LORD am I now come. And Joshua fell on his face
to the earth, and did worship , and said unto him, What saith my
Lord unto his servant?"
Jehoshaphat and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem
performed Salat to worship their God in 2 Chronicles 20:18 "And
Jehoshaphat bowed his head (in Rukuh) with his face to the
ground (Sujuud) and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem
fell before the LORD, worshipping the LORD."
Ezekiel also prayed to God with the position (prostration) in
Ezekiel 11:13 "And it came to pass, when I prophesied, that
Pelatiah the of Benaiah died. Then I fell down upon my face, and
cried with a loud voice, and said, Ah Lord GOD ! wilt thou make
a full end of the remnant of Israel?" AND in Ezekiel 9:8 "And
it came to pass, while they were slaying them, and I was left,
that I fell upon my face".
ANGELS WORSHIP GOD
As it is said by prophet Muhammad that the angels do worship God
with position of bowing and prostration, the same message is
given in the bible that angels worship God with prostration in
Revelation 7:11-12 "And all the angels who were standing in a
circle round the throne, surrounding the elders and the four
living creatures, prostrated themselves before the throne, and
touched the ground with their foreheads, worshipping God. With
these words: Amen. Praise and glory and wisdom, thanksgiving and
honour and power and strength to our God for ever and ever.
Amen."
CONGREGATION PRAYER
This is the way of worship in which there will be more than one
person that will perform the prayer at a particular time.
Prophet Muhammad (ﷺSAW) said: "The prayer in congregation
is superior to the prayer performed individually by twenty-seven
degrees." [Al-Bukhari and Muslim] It started from two people, in
which one person will stand as a leader (Imam), if they are more
than two (i.e 3 or 4.… people) the leader will stand in front
and the followers will stand at the back while following the
Imam, the line of the congregation prayer will start from right
to left till first row completed. God commanded us the
congregation prayer in Qur'an 62:9 "O ye who believe! When the
call is heard for the Salat (prayer) of the day of congregation,
haste unto remembrance of Allah and leave your trading. That is
better for you if ye did but know." And we are able to see the
same message in the Bible how they performed congregation prayer
in Nehemiah 8:4-6 "Ezra the scribe stood on a high wooden
platform built for the occasion. Beside him on his right stood
Mattithiah, Shema, Anaiah, Uriah, Hilkiah and Maaseiah; and on
his left were Pedaiah, Mishael, Malkijah, Hashum, Hashbaddanah,
Zechariah and Meshullam. Ezra opened the book. All the people
could see him because he was standing above them; and as he
opened it, the people all stood up. And Ezra blessed the LORD,
the great God. And all the people answered, Amen, Amen, with
lifting up their hands: and they bowed their heads, and
worshipped the LORD with [their] faces to the ground". According
to the verse the place is built for that purpose which means
that's not the first time and not the last time, and also the
first six people mentioned started their line from right side
while the last six people started from left side, Ezra stood in
front of them as an Imam and he opened the book while everybody
stood up for Salat (prayer) and he praised the lord and after
that everybody said amen amen and lifted up their hands [in
order to say ALLAHU AKBAR (GOD IS GREAT)], and they bow (Rukuh)
and prostrate (Sujuud) and worship God.
From these verses we know that the prayer did contain bowing and
prostrating, and the prophets before muhammad s.a.w. of course
PRAYED/WORSHIPED to God, as we can see that all Scriptures
proved to us on how to worship God which means there is no
reason for any followers of the scriptures (either Jews or
Christians and Muslims) that see the proofs on how to worship
God by (perform Salat as all prophets have done) and now reject
to do so that means the person(s) has rejected good parts of
his/her scripture, and the main purpose of the worship which we
can say "Salat" is exactly to show servitude to God which was
done by all the prophets.
God sent all his prophets has role model for us and also to
follow them, performing Salat is traditions of all prophets
which means performing Salat is important for you because God
says in Qur'an 29:45 "surely prayer (Salat) keeps (one) away
from indecency and evil"
