A soft laugh came from Sophie as she saw their little girl fall
asleep curled up against her daddy's frame. "I'm glad... It's
nice to know that she'll have a fun time with her siblings." She
commented through her laughing, though after a moment her
laughter turned into coughing. Over the last few days she'd been
fighting a cold that wanted to settle in. With her weakened
state, it made her much more vulnerable to sicknesses than she
was before.
"You do too!" Sarafina laughed, grinning widely as she heard his
protest and saw him pouting. "You can't lie to me, I scent it
every time you do! And why do you think I'm silly?"
Kristen gave her boyfriend a gentle smile, rather happy to be
able to spend time with Cyrus. This vacation would be wonderful,
especially since it would mean she'd spend some quality time
with him. With her new job at her mother's Veterinary Clinic, it
had been eating away at the time she'd normally be spending with
the man. "Well, I look forward to reading it once you're done
then." She told him, unable to stop the smile that seemed to
stay on her face.
Caoimhe rested her head against Valerian's, allowing her eyes to
slide shut as he squeezed her hand. It was rather nice being
able to spend time with her brother.
"I know they'll be back and I know they'll never really leave us
but..." Miren hesitated a bit, nuzzling her head against the
vampire's shoulder. "I miss having them as children and I don't
know what we're going to do with our empty home."

Alabaster's lips parted in preparation to respond, though when
he heard Sophie start to cough, his attempted words turned into
a gasp. "Easy Sophie," he told her, his voice soft as he spoke.
The boy gently ran his hand along her back, trying to soothe her
as best as he could.
"That's not fair," David whined, his pout growing, "Being able
to scent things like that on me... I think it's cheating~" When
the girl asked him why he thought she was silly, he offered her
a small grin. "'Cause you entertain and amuse me very easily
just by being your silly little self~"
Cyrus' lips curled up a bit more at the girl's words, and
without warning to her he leaned in to steal a kiss. "I'm so
glad we'll be able to get away for a little while," he hummed,
"It feels like it's been so long since we've been able to have
time to ourselves..."
"I can understand that," Infinity sighed, nuzzling back against
her, "It seems like just yesterday we had been bringing them
home... And now they're 21. It's almost surreal..."

Sophie kept coughing for a moment, even as Alabaster rubbed her
back to try and soothe her. "I-I'm sorry... I don't mean to
worry you." She murmured sadly, looking up with regretful eyes
at her husband.
"It's not cheating! It's using my natural abilities!" Sarafina
responded, sticking her tongue out at the man as he grinned at
her. "And how exactly how are you amused by me?"
A soft gasp escaped Kristen as she was suddenly kissed by the
Hybrid. "It will be nice to be able to spend time with you...
Perhaps some much needed alone time~?"
"I know... Whatever will we do without them?" Miren asked
forlornly, feeling tears start to prick at her eyes as the time
grew ever closer for the plane to arrive and their children to
leave.

"You have no need to apologize, Sophie," Alabaster murmured,
leaning over to nuzzle his nose with hers, "No need at all."
When he pulled his head back, the vampire offered her a small
smile.
"Case and point right there as to why you're silly!" David
laughed, offering the girl a now slightly playful smirk,
"Sticking your tongue out at me~? It's quite silly if I do say
so myself~"
Cyrus chuckled at the girl, amused between her gasp and her
words. "I sure hope we're able to get a bit of alone time," he
hummed, "I miss being able to simply be with you, and not have a
bunch of other people around."
"Hey now," Infinity hushed, reaching over to lift Miren's chin
and make her look at him, "Don't cry... There's no need to do
that." The vampire leaned in, and pressed a kiss against his
love's lips. "It'll be tough letting them go, but I'm sure we'll
be fine. We'll all be fine."

Sophie merely grew sadder as Alabaster nuzzled against her and
he spoke softly to her. "Yes, I do Ala... I'm leaving you... How
can I ever stop apologizing for abandoning you like this?
Forcing you to have to watch me wither away." Slight bitter
tears formed in the corners of her eyes as she turned her head
away from the vampire.
A huff escaped Sarafina as she rolled her eyes, "Well you do it
to me plenty of times! If that makes me silly then it makes you
silly as well!... So I suppose we'll just have to be silly
together won't we?"
Kristen's eyes lit up at Cyrus' words, obviously excited at the
prospect of having alone time with him. "That sounds wonderful!
I can't wait... Seems every time we try and spend some time
together, one of our families interrupts us..." She sighed,
shaking her head in the remembrance of the times where some of
their relatives had burst in on the young couple while they'd
been trying to spend time together. "Who knows... Maybe we'll be
able to walk along the beach at some point?"
While her father had grown up in Germany and her mother in
Virginia, Kristen had fallen in love with the beach... The
warmth of the sun, blue skies, sand beneath her feet and the
crashing of the ocean. It was so beautiful. She certainly
couldn't wait to visit the beaches. Kristen couldn't help but
hope that perhaps, Cyrus and her could spend a romantic evening
together while there... She'd heard good things about some of
the restaurants that lined the boardwalk where they were going.
"I can't help it..." Miren sighed softly, though a brief smile
pulled across her lips as Infinity pressed a kiss against her
lips. "I guess I'm just having a hard time letting go... I keep
seeing them as my babies and they're not anymore."

Alabaster frowned. He hated seeing his love so upset. Yes, he
was in pain having to watch her slowly die before his very eyes,
but he knew it would be over soon, and he would have her back in
his arms in no time. "Love," he murmured, reaching over to ever
so gently make her look at him again, "It hurts to watch you
slowly die, yes... No husband ever wants to see their wife in
pain, and know they cannot do anything to stop it." He paused,
and leaned in to rest his forehead against hers, closing his
eyes as he did so, "But... I know that this will all end soon
enough... And then it will not be long before I get the chance
to find you again and make you mine." He smiled, and nuzzled
against her, "Even if I have to wait several years until you've
grown up again, I can survive that wait knowing that, in the
end, I'll be able to take you into my arms again and hold you
for several more centuries."
David laughed at his love, and he let go of her hand so he
could wrap his arm around her instead, and hold her to his side
as best as he could while avoiding the armrest between them. "I
guess we will," he hummed, turning his head to kiss the side of
hers.
"Yes," Cyrus sighed, running a hand through his hair as he
thought over Kristen's words, "Between both of our
decently-sized families, it's hard to find time to our selves at
home." The boy shook his head, though a smile lingered on his
lips. Even though they drove him crazy most of the time, he
adored his family so much, and he could never see himself being
too far away from them for any long period of time. Even
Kristen's family, as their parents had been friends before they
were born, were a big part of his life. He could not imagine
being separated from them, either.
When the girl suggested they take a walk along the beach, the
half-breed's eyes lit up, and he smiled at the idea. "I think
that sounds wonderful," he hummed, turning his head to once
again smile at his girlfriend.
"Come on, mom, we'll always be your babies."
Having caught on to the conversation that his parents were
having, Valerian had apologized to Caoimhe for needing to step
away for a moment, and walked over toward the two who had
brought him into the world. The dhampir hugged his mother from
behind, letting his arms drape over her and his chin gently rest
on the top of her head. "Even if we're older now, Imhe and I are
still your little ones~ That will never change!"
Infinity smiled at his son's attempt to cheer up the woman he
adored. He let Miren go so that Valerian could hug her as he had
been trying to do, and instead took the woman's hand in his to
gently rub the back of it with his thumb.

Sophie allowed her eyes to slide shut as Alabaster leaned his
forehead against hers, savoring the feel of the contact. "The
day that we'll be reunited can't come fast enough..." She
whispered softly to him, releasing a quiet sigh as she did so.
"I love you so much... Even if I will be in a Paradise, it won't
be the same without you with me."
As David's arm curled about her, the girl shook her head out of
amusement before leaning into his hold. "I think as long as
we're together I can handle us being just about anything."
Amusement flittered across Kristen's face as she heard Cyrus'
words. "Mhm, as much as I love my family and enjoy spending time
with yours. Sometimes all I want to do is just be with you,
Cyrus." She told him, her cheeks flushing a bit at her
admission. A smile crossed the girl's face as Cyrus seemed to
grow happy at the idea of walking on the beach with her. "I'm
glad you think the idea is wonderful."
More tears filled Miren's eyes, though it was more because she
was feeling emotional at the moment not necessarily that she was
upset. Gently she turned in Valerian's grip so she could hug the
boy back. "Oh Val... I just love you two so much... It's hard
having to let you go, even though I know I should." She
whispered to him quietly, gently squeezing her love's hand.

"Things won't be the same without you here, either," Alabaster
murmured, gently stroking the skin of her cheeks with his
fingertips, "But we won't be away from each other for too long,
love... We'll be back together before you know it."
"Well, luckily I don't plan on ever letting you go," David
hummed, nuzzling his head against Sarafina's, "So you're going
to be stuck with me for quite some time."
"I really cannot wait for this trip now," Cyrus hummed, his
smile growing as he looked upon his girlfriend, "Getting time
alone with you..." The half-breed flushed slightly, though it
was obvious that he enjoyed the idea, "It's quite a pleasing
thought."
"I know it's hard, mom..." Valerian murmured, hugging the woman
gently when she turned within his arms, "It's hard to think
about being in a different house than you guys. But... We won't
go too far, mom, I promise... And I won't be away from you too
long." He paused, before smiling at the woman once more, "I
promise you I'll visit you guys constantly... And you know Imhe
will too."
